Desperate Arrival

The round-glasses man recoils violently, body twisting under pressure as black aura-like marks swirl around him. A massive truck rumbles forward into the vast, dimly lit interior of an industrial hangar. Small figures stand near the entrance as voices call out. "YES, SIR. THEN WE WILL EXCUSE OURSELVES." "YOU CAN LEAVE TRUCK NUMBER FOUR HERE." The truck continues deeper into the cavernous space lined with hanging lights and metal structures. In the foreground, a man in a heavy jacket watches the vehicle depart, raising one hand slightly. "WELL NOW." The truck turns and drives away down a side passage, its engine echoing through the empty facility.

The truck rolls to a stop inside the long corridor of Area D. A man with a headband watches from the side, chuckling to himself. "KU KU KU." Narration states: "AREA D, THE UNDERGROUND HANGAR IN THE SOUTHEAST WING OF THE PALACE." The man stands alone in the vast empty space, arms spread wide. Massive onomatopoeia ゴォォン shakes the panel. "MY PARADISE....!!" "NO ONE CAN DISTURB ME HERE."

A heavy metallic clang echoes as a figure peers out from behind a barred opening. Below, a long empty corridor stretches into the distance where several small figures stand waiting. Outside, a man in a hooded jacket stands beside the open rear of a large truck, gesturing calmly. "YOU MAY COME OUT," he says. "NO NEED TO WORRY." The scene shifts to a wide view of a dusty street lined with simple buildings and a parked truck. A lone man faces a group of women and onlookers. "FROM TODAY ON..." he announces, "THIS WILL BE YOUR WORK-PLACE."

The hooded-jacket man continues speaking with his hand raised. "I WILL PROVIDE YOU WITH EVERYTHING YOU NEED IF IT'S WITHIN MY POWER," he states. "YOU WILL EACH GET A PRIVATE ROOM." He adds, "OF COURSE, THAT EXCLUDES TRYING TO ESCAPE FROM HERE." "YOU ARE FREE TO DO ANYTHING FOR THE MOST PART." A close panel shows a knife lying on the ground beside a dangling rope. "IS TO FOLLOW MY ORDERS...!!" the man declares. "THE ONE AND ONLY JOB YOU HAVE..." Five women react with varied expressions of surprise and concern. In the final panel the man, seen from behind, addresses the group once more: "RESPOND SWIFTLY WHEN I SUMMON YOU." "COME TO ME AS FAST AS POSSIBLE!"

A man with slicked-back hair stares forward with wide eyes as a crowd of people cheers behind him. "YES!! MINISTER-DONO!!" they shout enthusiastically. The man responds calmly with "GOOD." A large black panel shows a pointing hand emerging from darkness with the words "YOU..." The minister turns and addresses the group: "YES!! THE REST SHOULD GO TO YOUR ROOMS AND BE ON STANDBY. COME WITH ME." Two children watch from the side, one exclaiming "CAUGHT THE MINISTER'S EYE...!!" while the other adds "WE MUST HAVE..." Palm stands in profile, her hair flowing, thinking "I MUST SNEAK OUT. NO MATTER WHAT..." She embraces the girl with the ponytail, both with determined expressions.
