In a dense forest, Gon stands alone on a root-covered path beside a massive tree, his back to the viewer. A voice calls out that he is wasting his time. Gon remains still, listening. From the shadows among the trees, a mocking laugh echoes. Gon turns his head slightly, his expression firm, and declares he will never show any weakening, adding that the unseen follower can pursue him as much as they want.

A man in a hat and glasses speaks from the shadows, declaring himself a prudent guy who will show no mercy even to a child. Hidden in foliage wearing a mask, he urges himself to keep exhausting his opponent psychologically and to keep the target afraid. He announces he will start acting once the boy grows tired and falls asleep. The man crouches low among the trees, still muttering that he is prudent, while admitting the boy is actually scared to death.

A massive impact sound echoes through the dense forest as a huge black shape looms in the foreground. In the distance, a small figure stands among the trees. A voice warns, "I'M WARNING YOU: IF YOU DON'T COME TO ME, I'LL COME TO YOU." In the next panels, a sweating man in a hat and striped shirt faces a young examinee with glasses. The young examinee replies, "EVEN IF I TAKE YOUR TAG, I'LL ONLY GET ONE POINT..." and adds, "NO, REALLY, THAT'S ENOUGH." The man sweats heavily amid repeated "DOM" sound effects, thinking to himself, "BUT I'M A PRUDENT GUY... SHOULD I RUN AWAY?" "ANYWAYS, I CAN'T LOSE! HE'S ONLY A KID!" and "WHAT SHOULD I DO?" In the bottom panel, the man continues his internal struggle: "THEY LEFT TO HUNT THEIR OWN PREY, I HAVE TO TAKE HIS TAG BEFORE THEY COME BACK... AAAAH..." followed by "BUT IF I EVER DO THAT, I'LL BE THE MOCKERY OF MY BROTHERS!! WHAT CAN I DO?"

Tonpa wipes sweat from his face and speaks into the forest, "SORRY, MORI, WE MADE YOU WAIT." Small panels show repeated "TAP" sounds as footsteps approach through the foliage. In a wide forest shot, Gon stands with his back to the viewer, reacting with "!?" as a large speech bubble shouts "UMORI !!!" from off-panel. At the bottom of the page, two men appear: one with a headband says, "I'M SURE YOU'RE ALREADY DONE!" while the other in a dark outfit replies, "IT TOOK ME SO LONG..."

Gon stands alone on a forest path and reacts with surprise. "Eh?" Three examinees watch him from behind a tree. Suddenly the striped-shirt examinee and the beanie-wearing examinee clash violently, trading punches with loud impact sounds. The examinee in the hat shouts at his companions, "NO! THAT'S NOT IT AT ALL!!" Another retorts, "You're scared without us? You can't fight him, can you?" while the third yells "IMBE-CILE!" The argument escalates as the striped-shirt examinee insists, "OKAY! OKAY! You're mocking us..." The examinee in the hat explains his plan: "So I thought I would only steal his tag while he's sleeping. The poor kid, nevertheless, I can't hit him!" The beanie examinee snaps, "I'm gonna do it. Because you react this way, I don't have any other choice..." The examinee in the hat smiles confidently with eyes closed, raising a hand in a dismissive gesture.

The examinee in the hat addresses Gon directly with a calm, smiling face. "If you give it calmly, then nothing bad will happen. COME ON, KID, GIMME YOUR SHEET." Gon glares back and shouts "IDIOT!" In the next instant Gon launches a powerful flying kick, his body surrounded by radiating speed lines and a massive impact effect as he strikes the examinee in the hat, sending him flying with a loud crash.

A powerful impact sends Killua flying backward through the air, his body twisting from the force of the blow. Leorio stands with his arm extended, shouting a warning he had already given. Killua lands hard in the grassy clearing, skidding across the dirt and coming to rest among the bushes. Several other examinees watch from the treeline. One remarks that the hit must have really connected, while another admits he did not miss his target. Killua lies motionless on his back, staring upward with a blank expression as leaves and branches frame the scene.

Killua rises quickly, tapping the ground and hopping back to his feet with light movements. He lands upright and faces the group. Leorio appears surprised, his eyes wide. Other examinees comment that Leorio is too nice and did not go all out. Killua looks down at a small round object in his hand marked 'N°198' and questions its meaning. The surrounding examinees watch his reaction closely as he stands holding the item.

In a forest clearing, Gon stands with his back to the viewer, facing a group of examinees scattered among the trees. Gon turns slightly, his spiky hair visible, as one examinee with a cap sweats nervously and mutters, "THAT'S NOT THE SHEET I WAS LOOKING FOR, BUT IT'S REALLY CLOSE..." Gon holds up a round tag marked 198 toward two examinees—one wearing a headband and another in a beanie—who stare back with wide eyes. In a dramatic close-up, Gon smiles confidently and asks, "IS ONE OF YOU TWO... PERHAPS NUMBER 199..."

With a swift motion, his nails slice through fabric and string in a clean "ZIP..." cut, removing the tag. Two nearby examinees react with visible alarm, sweat drops forming as they stare in disbelief. Killua and the beanie-wearing examinee then walk off together across the grassy clearing. One of the remaining men points and exclaims, "HIM, HE'S #197..." The other confesses, "LET ME CONFESS SOMETHING : IN SUCH A SITUATION, I HAVE ABSOLUTELY NO INTUITION."

Killua faces the headband-wearing examinee and asks, "WOULD YOU GIVE ME YOUR TAG THEN?" The man confirms, "YOU'RE #199, AREN'T YOU?" and receives the reply "I AM..." The examinee flings his tag with a sharp "FLIT" motion. Killua, now wearing number 99, watches the tag fly past before turning and catching it cleanly. He says "THANK YOU!" while the headband examinee lies on the ground after being struck. Killua remarks, "SINCE I DON'T NEED THIS ONE..." as he secures the new tag.

Gon charges forward at blinding speed, his body low and focused as his foot slams into the ground with a sharp SLAT, sending up a spray of dirt and debris amid heavy motion lines. A sudden intense flash of light erupts across the landscape, illuminating the forest edge. Two examinees with headbands stand frozen in shock, eyes wide and mouths agape at the sudden burst of movement and light. On the right, a tall vertical panel captures the lingering afterimage of Gon's rapid departure marked by FLIT and sharp speed streaks.

A quiet SULL lingers over empty forest silhouettes. Gon races onward through the woods, motion lines streaking behind him as he calls out AND THIS ONE... MAYBE... THIS WAY!! with a determined expression. He bursts past trees marked TAP, shouting SEE YA! as he leaves the area. A speech bubble from off-panel warns YOU HAVE 5 DAYS LEFT TO FIND THEM, GOOD LUCK.... In the final wide panel, Gon stands victorious over a fallen examinee while two others react with shock; one yells DAMN! as Gon looks back confidently.

High above the dense forest canopy, repeated flat impacts echo through the air with large stylized lettering spelling FLAT alongside Japanese characters. The treetops stretch endlessly below. In the rocky clearing beneath, sharp slaps and strikes land on the stone surfaces, marked by bold SLAT and SUT sound effects that send cracks and dust flying. A small dark winged shape hurtles through the open space, trailing motion lines, while a starburst impact flashes nearby. The word CATCH appears as the flying object is seized midair.

A bald man in a dark shirt holds up a star-shaped badge while speaking. He declares that he never expected the kid to do all the work for him. Nearby, another bald figure in a striped outfit stands with one leg raised, noting that the 197 never moves without the 199. The same man adds that he did well waiting to see how the situation would turn. A close-up shows a surprised face reacting with a TAG sound as a small head peeks from below.
