Chapter 111

In the pouring rain, a group of figures dashes through the crowded streets under colorful umbrellas. Motion lines and repeated ZAT sound effects emphasize their rapid movement. Kurapika sprints ahead in a long coat while Leorio, Gon, and Killua follow in a car. Leorio shouts, "KURA-PIKA !?" as he spots him. "They're fast!" someone exclaims. "They're heading to the hotel!" Another panel shows the trio inside the vehicle: "It's rush hour. They're faster running than we are with a car... Hey, can you pass them with the car?" Kurapika yells back, "Wait here until I call you!!" Leorio responds, "Leorio!" From off-panel, a voice calls, "I have an idea! Wait!" and "Wait, Kura-pika!!" The final panel shows Kurapika leaping forward with a "BI! TAP" as he lands on the wet pavement.

A tense phone conversation unfolds. Leorio protests, "What...?! Stop! There're too many risks!" while gripping the phone. The reply comes, "Yes, I'm following them." Kurapika reports, "I'm at the entrance of the station, with Senritsu." Leorio reacts with "Kura-pika !?" Elsewhere, a spiky-haired man growls, "That bastard, he hung up!" as a phone beeps. A voice warns, "You'll be spotted !!" and questions, "They're running north-west?!" In a separate panel, three women stand under umbrellas in the rain, looking alert. The final action sequence shows a dynamic mid-air clash with multiple figures, heavy ZAT impacts, and debris flying as one character lands a strike while another watches from the side with a small "sat" effect.

Two young girls stare upward in shock, one shouting 'NINJAS! NINJAS!' while the other exclaims 'WOAH! WHAT WAS THAT?'. Leorio drives furiously, yelling 'ARGH! OKAY... I GOT IT... WE'LL FOLLOW TOO...!!!' and 'I'M HEADING FOR TAKURUI BEACH HOTEL, BUT WITH THE TRAFFIC JAM, I CAN'T MOVE!' Gon leans forward with wide eyes as Killua snaps 'THEY'RE PISSING ME OFF, MAKING DECISIONS SO EASILY!'

Pakunoda states 'WE'RE BEING FOLLOWED...' with a serious expression. Gon and Killua react in the back seat: 'WE JUMPED IN HEAD-FIRST, AND DIDN'T PAY ATTENTION.' and 'SINCE WHEN ?!' while Killua adds 'DAMN'. Nobunaga, gripping his sheathed sword, demands 'WHERE'S THE CHAIN GUY?! IN FRONT OR BEHIND?!' as 'ZAT ZAT' sound effects mark rapid sword draws. He swings the blade with bright impact flashes. Pakunoda confirms 'RIGHT !' Nobunaga shouts orders: 'NOBU! PAKU! KUROTOPI! FOLLOW THE ONE IN FRONT!' as the group leaps into action, Gon exclaiming '!!' and motion lines showing their pursuit through the street.

Chrollo Lucilfer stands tall in the center of the frame, his long black coat with fur collar and cross-shaped buttons flaring dramatically as black impact lines and feathers burst around him. In a rainy city street, the group tracks their target. Killua reports positions: “ONE IN THE ALLEY. A woman in a wide hat and dark coat extends her chained fingers forward, shouting defiantly, "COME! I'M WAITING FOR YOU!!" In a small inset, she murmurs "SPIDERS..." while adjusting her gloves. Nearby, Gon and Killua react in panic. Gon yells, "WE DON'T STAND A CHANCE IN THIS SITUATION!" Killua cries out, "KURAPIKA! NO!" A tense close-up shows Gon’s determined face as he declares, "FINE... DOUBLE OR NOTHING !!" The scene shifts to a rainy street where the woman spots Gon and shouts "GON?!" In the background, a figure with a cross on his coat stands amid motion lines and impact effects as two boys face off against approaching enemies.

The woman replies, "HOW DO YOU..." Another child asks, "MAY I ASK YOU SOMETHING?" She concludes, "IF THERE'S ANY RELATION BETWEEN THEM AND THE CHAIN GUY, WE'D BETTER KEEP THEM ALIVE." The child retorts, "YOU SHOULDN'T RELY ON MY THAT MUCH..." GOROGORO rumbles continue in the background.

The rain continues as the group remains in the corridor. One child wonders about the fighter's white flag. Pakunoda reflects that the expression of the motive is not her thing. A large ZAT sound effect flashes near her face. She notes that the key to self-consciousness lies in the motive. The children exchange glances, with one asking, "WHO IS THIS GUY...?" Another panel shows the three children standing together. Pakunoda states, "RIGHT." She continues, "IF THEY TRY TO RUN, KILL THEM." A massive ZAAAAAAT sound effect appears as she adds, "WE'RE GOING TO HEAD TO THE HOTEL, AND WAIT THERE FOR THE OTHERS." GOROGORO sounds persist in the rainy background.

On a rainy city street at night, crowds of people walk under umbrellas past glowing signs and parked cars. Kurapika, disguised in a black hat and sunglasses, stands with two women from the Phantom Troupe. One woman in a white hat and round glasses speaks calmly while another with long hair and a dark hat responds. Kurapika snaps, "SHIT!" and then "I KNOW!" The woman with the white hat says, "THERE'S NOTHING TO GAIN BY GETTING ANGRY, KURAPIKA!" and warns, "OR WE MIGHT GET CAUGHT IN THE MESH OF DEFENSE. AT LEAST, IF THEY DON'T LOSE CONCENTRATION UNLESS WE ERASE OUR PRESENCE." The long-haired woman adds, "THE MINIMAL DISTANCE TO MAINTAIN." A close-up shows Kurapika's intense face as someone retorts, "BECAUSE OF YOUR RECKLESS BEHAVIOR, THEY'RE IN A REAL MESS!!" and "NO, YOU DON'T KNOW!" In the lower panels Kurapika, now shown with sweat and distress, says "I'M SORRY." The white-hatted woman continues, "BECAUSE IF THE RYODAN HAD GONE AFTER YOU, NO ONE WOULD HAVE BEEN ABLE TO STOP IT! THEY LET THEMSELVES BE CAUGHT! YOU KNOW WHY?"

The white-hatted woman continues speaking to the group. She says, "IT'S ONLY A MATTER OF TIME. BE PATIENT." and notes, "EVERYONE ENDS UP LOWERING THEIR GUARD AT ONE TIME OR ANOTHER." Kurapika replies, "YES." The long-haired woman observes, "HE MUST HAVE LEFT HIS CELL-PHONE IN THE HOTEL." and questions, "HE'S NOT ANSWERING." A large sound effect "GON GON GON" appears. The white-hatted woman wonders, "AND SCU-WALA?" A dramatic close-up shows a sweating man with a dot on his forehead staring intensely, followed by two empty speech bubbles. The scene shifts to a rainy street filled with cars where a figure stands among vehicles. Someone says, "HE'S NOT THE ONE WE'RE LOOKING FOR." Another voice states, "HE'S ONE OF THE GUYS FROM THE LIST." and a simple "NO." is spoken.

Nobunaga's scarred face fills the top panel, his eyes narrowed as he issues a cold command: "GET OUT." Below, a figure repeatedly taps on the side of a dark vehicle with the sound effect "TAP TAP TAP HA HA HA HA" echoing along the panel edge. A short-haired character reacts sharply with "fiout!" as the group processes the situation. Nobunaga continues, sweat visible on his cheek: "I GOT THROUGH IT WELL. UNTIL NOW..." Another voice adds, "AND WHAT THAT INTUITION TELLS ME NOW, IS..." Pakunoda, gripping a handgun, states firmly, "YOU CAN SAY IT DEVELOPS A KIND OF INTUITION. I MANAGED TO COME BACK FROM THE EDGE OF HELL SEVERAL TIMES." In the final panels, a voice declares, "IS WHERE I'LL DIE." followed by an unfinished "THIS..."
