But with Gon it is the opposite. Killua stands over Gon, one foot planted on his head, as Gon lies on the ground staring upward in shock. Behind them, two opponents—a bald swordsman and a long-haired fighter—react with surprise. Killua realizes this power is something different. He wonders aloud how many years, ten or twenty, it must have taken. It should have required years and years of endless training to reach this form. Gon, sweat pouring down his face, thinks that to obtain such a powerful aura, what did he have to pay?

The creature radiates overwhelming pressure, its form twisting with raw power. In the ruined chamber, Netero stands with his right arm raised high, declaring, "I'LL GIVE YOU. MY RIGHT ARM." He adds that it "COMES ... FIRST." A close-up captures his intense glare as he addresses his foe with "YOU, TOO." Below, the massive strike erupts in a blinding flash of light and radiating shockwaves. The onomatopoeia "GULI"!! rings out as Netero announces, "NOW IT'S TIME TO SAY GOOD NIGHT ..." The small figure of Meruem is caught at the center of the expanding blast amid flying debris and impact lines.

Killua's face fills the frame, eyes bulging and mouth stretched wide in raw panic as he screams at Gon. "NO!! YOU CAN'T!! DON'T USE THAT POWER ANY MORE!!" he yells, sweat flying from his strained features. "DON'T YOU KNOW WHAT THAT WILL DO TO YOU....!?" he continues desperately. "GON!" he shouts the name with everything he has. To the left, a smaller panel shows a lone figure seated on the ground, back turned, body jolted by an impact marked "JAN!" with a "KEN" label near the figure.
