Below, the woman continues, "Obviously, this wasn't done without a reason." The scene shifts to show her leg extended over rubble as she adds, "But it gives us proof that they still occupy this territory..." A blond child crouching nearby answers, "Yeah..." In the bottom panels a man wearing a top hat and dark sunglasses states, "Yeah... and honestly, I'm not really tempted to do that. And moving aimlessly, hoping to stumble upon them, is too risky." He concludes, "The problem is that, with all the new buildings, it's impossible for me to know where I'm going. There are too many blind spots."

The long-haired woman reacts with surprise, exclaiming "What? Their voices?" She thinks, "If I was suddenly to hear their voices behind me, I wouldn't know what to do... My heart is racing." The narrative continues with the discovery: "I CONTINUED SEARCHING AND I DISCOVERED THEY WERE IN FACT THE BODYGUARDS OF NOSTRAD'S DAUGHTER." "HE LEFT IMMEDIATELY AFTER HE UNDERSTOOD WHERE THEY WERE LOCATED." A woman with a cross-shaped mark on her forehead leans in, asking, "SHE'S THE ONE YOU STOLE THE PREDICTION SKILL FROM?" "OH?" He realizes if she came with bodyguards it was to join the auctions. Shalnark confirms the information. A small panel shows Kurapika's surprised face. Chrollo states that the scarlet pupils were the target all along. Shalnark explains that during the auction he was on auto-pilot and made copies of the information. Chrollo concludes that the chain user entered the underground auction knowing Nostrad had interest in the scarlet eyes, and their target has two objectives.

Rain falls on the exterior of a tall building at night. Inside a warmly lit room, a large white dog stares forward with wide eyes. A magazine cover featuring a woman's face lies beside a small stove. Several plates sit half-eaten with dark sauce. A newspaper headline about vampires is visible. A man sits eating and states there is no obvious solution to his problem of finding work that pays well while keeping him in contact with Elisa, adding that he is at the end of his limits and cannot wait for the job to finish. Two young girls watch from the side. Elisa, a girl with long light hair, looks up with a serious expression while noting that Elisa wants to stop too. The final panel shows a rainy cityscape at night with tall buildings and power lines under heavy rain.
