The Tower

On the live floor, people panic around Queen and Sanji after the blade that struck Sanji shatters. Someone cries, "Something's up with Sanji!!" and others shout that Sanji shattered Queen-sama's sword. Sanji realizes it was not Haki, not Armament Haki, because that would not explain everything. He remembers Judge mentioning improvements meant to make humans more durable, with an accelerated healing factor and enhanced physical strength, all topped off with "hearts of ice." Queen laughs while Sanji pieces together the frightening truth: the changes he hated in his siblings may be awakening in his own body.

Chopper cheers, "Way to go, Sanji, my boy!!! You broke a sword with your bare neck!!" Sanji thinks of his siblings and says, "No, I... I don't want to be like them... Those unfeeling monsters...!!" He asks himself what is happening to him, whether he is going to lose his emotions, and says he needs to figure out what caused this. Queen calls after him, "Hey, where do you think you're going?!" and laughs while Sanji runs, saying, "Let me think for a bit!! If this keeps up..." Allies shout, "Sanji?! What's wrong...?" as he retreats from the fight in panic.

Enemies recognize Sanji as a Straw Hat and shout that he is muttering to himself, wide open, and vulnerable. They prepare to shoot him, calling him "Black Leg Sanji," but when bullets hit, Sanji only says, "Hell yeah, got hi--" and then snaps, "That hurt, you bastard!!" Queen barrels forward, yelling, "Muhaha, get back here and put on your Raid Suit!! Show me what Germa science can do!!!" Sanji is not invincible and still feels pain, but the ordinary shots fail to stop him, making the change in his body even harder for him to ignore.

On the second floor, Big Mom mocks Kid: "Hey, you don't look too good. Maaamamama hahaha!! What's the matter... you got a migraine?!" Kid is on the ground, clutching his head, while Big Mom orders, "Get him, Hera!! Napoleon!!" Hera answers, "Yes, Mama!" and Big Mom brings her living weapons down toward him. Kid groans, "Eustass-ya!!" is shouted nearby, but his body refuses to respond. The pain is not a normal injury from Big Mom; something elsewhere is attacking him through Hawkins's ability.

Kid throbs with pain and yells that the weight on him needs to stop being dead weight. Big Mom slams down with "Mama-Raid!" while the translator note says the name is meant to sound like marmalade. Law attacks in response with "Counter Shock!!" shocking Big Mom and making her cry out. The translator note for Law's follow-up says "Stollen Fire" references both stollen, a German pastry, and Prometheus, the mythological figure punished for stealing fire for humanity. Prometheus angrily asks how Law dared to hurt Mama. Law's intervention buys Kid a moment, but Kid's unexplained headache still leaves him badly compromised.

Big Mom laughs and strikes again with "Mama-Raid!" Kid pants and thinks that he finally has an opportunity to take down an Emperor, but if he dies like this, his life as a pirate would be a joke. Big Mom mocks him, saying this is pitiful and that he looks like he will keel over on his own at this point. Kid curses the headache and asks what is going on. The page shows Kid's frustration clearly: his will to fight Big Mom is intact, but his body is being sabotaged by a force outside the fight.

The scene cuts to the third floor, where Killer is fighting Hawkins. Killer shouts, "Stop it!!" while Hawkins laughs, "Fa fa fa!!" and repeatedly bashes his own skull against a pillar. Killer's allies beg Hawkins to stop and ask why they cannot help Killer finish him. Hawkins mocks Killer, asking whether he actually ate a Smile fruit and saying he has the worst luck. Killer begs, "I'm begging you to stop!" but Hawkins laughs that Killer is not fighting either. As the fire approaches, allies shout that they cannot take it anymore and need to hurry and leave. Killer tells Hawkins, "Release Kid... You can have my life if that's what it takes!!"

Killer kicks Hawkins away and tells him to stop getting in Kid's way. Hawkins says Kid is apparently facing Big Mom now and bets that Kid sees it as his chance to finally supplant an Emperor. He offers Killer a way out, saying Killer can always cut him down with those scythes if he is sick of him, and adds that he still does not mind if Killer surrenders. Hawkins will even put in a good word with Kaido. Killer refuses, saying their side has no chance of winning only if one accepts Hawkins's cowardly path. He says the reason Hawkins's dominion over seas has lasted so long is obvious to anyone who has laid eyes on the Emperors: they cannot be beaten. Killer then says he sees through Hawkins's wailing and that Hawkins regrets the path he chose.

Hawkins insists that they fought through the impossible odds he foresaw and that Killer and Kid are still here only because Hawkins angered himself and quit. He says he will accept Killer into the fold if he submits. Killer answers that they will see who made the right decision when the battle is over. He then says he does not want to have regrets either and will give this another shot. He asks Hawkins a question: what happens if Hawkins takes damage that has nowhere else to go? Hawkins laughs that Killer should understand his powers by now and that the question has no answer, but Killer has already found the flaw.

Killer cuts off Hawkins's left arm. Hawkins screams, "You... you cut off my arm?!! But the damage should have..." Killer answers the missing logic: "Kid... doesn't have a left arm!!!" A straw doll emerges from Hawkins's severed limb, and Killer says that was the last one. Hawkins realizes the damage could not transfer to Kid because Kid has no corresponding arm, and he panics that this is not what he predicted. Killer asks his second question: "How many more lives do you have?!" Hawkins draws his card and reveals, "Strawman's card: Death, upright... The Annihilation Card!!"

Hawkins summons his giant strawman and declares that Killer is already living on borrowed time, so he will finish him head-on. The strawman attacks with "Clawing Guillotine!!" while Hawkins says, "The Strawman can't die...!! Show me the result of this battle!!!" Hawkins draws "The Tower!" and the card lands with ominous force. The page stages the final exchange as Hawkins trusting fate and cards against Killer's choice to carve through the prediction.

Killer cuts down Hawkins's strawman with "Sonic Blade!!" Hawkins is struck and collapses as the straw construct falls apart. Killer tells Kid, "Go for it, partner!!" The chapter ends on the caption "Carving out a new future!!"

The concluding spread lingers on Hawkins's defeat and the tarot meaning of "The Tower." Hawkins lies beaten while cards scatter through the air, and the observers shout for Hawkins and cheer Killer.
