Chapter 94

The man with the topknot sweats as he considers his options, muttering which one he should follow. A detailed cross-section of the building reveals multiple floors with Gon and two other figures positioned on upper levels near a damaged area. The man realizes they are on the fourth floor and notes that the stairs are right next to their location.

Gon bursts through a crumbling wall in a powerful leap, shards of concrete and debris exploding outward as he charges forward with a fierce expression. Close behind, Killua smashes through another section of the broken structure, landing in a crouch amid the falling rubble. In a dimly lit corridor, Nobunaga stands with his back partially turned, gripping a sheathed sword. He glances over his shoulder and shouts, "THE ONE WITH DARK HAIR!!"

Nobunaga sprints down a long, damaged hallway as large onomatopoeia "BATAM" echoes. He skids to a stop with a surprised "!" expression. In close-up, Nobunaga thinks, "I CAN BREAK IT DOWN AND FOLLOW HIM, BUT... HE LOCKED THE DOOR." Multiple small panels show him testing locked doors with repeated "BATAM" impacts and a "clac" sound. From a low angle, Gon lies on the debris-strewn floor while Nobunaga considers, "IF I ATTACK FROM THE SIDE, HE'LL BE CAUGHT LIKE A RAT IN A TRAP!!" A final "TAP" is heard as Nobunaga moves into position.

Nobunaga presses his ear to the wall, listening intently as faint tapping sounds echo from above. He mutters that he can hear the target moving downstairs. In the next room, the man with glasses sprints through a narrow corridor, realizing his target is only two rooms ahead. He curses the target's stupidity. Suddenly the man with glasses smashes through the wall with a violent VLAM, debris flying as he spots the other figure fleeing. He lands in a powerful stance and declares there will be no more hesitation; he must pursue the dark-haired one. With a massive BATAM the wall beside Nobunaga explodes inward, sending cracks and dust across the surface as Nobunaga flinches with a startled Ah!

The man with glasses bursts through another wall into a hallway, landing with a heavy TAP as rubble falls around him. He immediately dashes forward. Through a large hole in the wall he scans the next room, muttering that he must hurry. In the debris-filled chamber below, overturned chairs, broken furniture, and a potted palm tree lie scattered across the tiled floor. The man with glasses stands among the wreckage and shouts where the target is hiding. From below Nobunaga wonders if the target hid somewhere, noting there is no hole in the wall and the door remains locked.

Killua bursts forward with wide eyes and an open mouth, shouting desperately, 'ARE YOU HERE?!' as the large vertical letters 'KILLUA!!!' emphasize his cry. Below him, the man with glasses turns sharply in profile, reacting with a startled '!?'. In a small panel, a figure is seen bursting through a door from behind, prompting the exclamation 'HOW DID HE ESCAPE?!' and 'CRAP!'. The view shifts to a long, damaged corridor where a voice calls out 'YEAH!' and 'I'M HERE!'. At the bottom, the bearded man studies a floor plan marked with arrows and the word 'HOLE', thinking aloud, 'HE HID IN THE ROOM, WAITING FOR ME TO ACT, AND WENT AROUND ME...' while another voice curses, 'DAMN... THAT LAST HOLE HE MADE WAS A TRICK!'

Killua stands firmly in the ruined corridor, legs planted wide, and declares, 'LET'S ATTACK HIM TOGETHER!!' while another voice notes, 'AND HE WENT INTO THE CORRIDOR!!!'. Suddenly a massive impact shakes the hallway as 'VLAM' and motion lines erupt from a distant door, followed by a smaller 'TAC' sound effect near the floor debris. The corridor is left empty except for scattered rubble and broken furniture.

In a ruined, dimly lit hallway lined with broken windows and scattered debris, a sudden crash erupts as a figure smashes through a wall or door frame. The man with a topknot and glasses bursts into the corridor amid flying rubble and impact lines, his body twisted in mid-motion. Narration wonders whether the hidden enemies are using the darkness to their advantage. A wide view of the empty hallway follows, with text noting that their presences can no longer be felt. The scene cuts to a dramatic close-up of a scarred man’s intense face, his eyes narrowed and aura flaring as he mutters, “THE ID-IOTS …”

The man with glasses and topknot launches forward in a powerful leap, surrounded by radiating speed lines and large stylized sound effects. The panel explodes with motion as he extends his arm. He adds that he can only extend his En to around 4m but that is more than enough, noting it is actually his limit. With a confident stance he calls out "COME." A final close-up shows narrowed eyes declaring "I'M WAITING FOR YOU!!!!"

Two pairs of sneakers pound across cracked pavement and rubble, motion lines streaking behind them. The scene opens to a devastated cityscape of collapsed buildings and mountains of debris under a dark sky. Gon and Killua stand amid the ruins; Killua leans forward with an angry expression, shouting "IDIOT!!!" while Gon faces him with a determined look, fists clenched at his sides.

Killua and Gon stand face to face on a rooftop at night. Killua glares and warns, "FORGET IT! BY THE TIME YOU REACT, HE WOULD HAVE ALREADY SENT YOU TO ANOTHER WORLD." Gon growls back, "GRR! I WANTED TO FIGHT WITH HIM, AND YOU... RRR!" Gon suddenly looks shocked, sweat dropping as he blurts "WHAT??" Killua continues explaining that they only know the basics of Nen and that their opponent is not someone they can handle. In a smaller panel Gon sits with a 100% rate note while Killua adds "A.MOST." Killua then states, "YOU'RE THE ONE WHO KEEPS HIS HEAD AND CALMS ME. THE RECKLESS ONE IS ME." The two boys dash across the rooftop with motion lines as Killua declares, "I'M FINALLY REFINING THE KILLUA I KNOW." Gon urges, "DON'T JUMP TO CONCLUSIONS! THE ONE WHO WE CAN RELY ON." In the large bottom panel under dramatic lighting, Gon sits on a railing with one leg raised while Killua leans forward. Gon says, "BAH, IT DEPENDS ON WHAT YOU WANNA DO." Killua replies, "FINE, AND NOW?"

Killua continues, "WE COULD GET 6 BILLION JENIS AT ONCE, JUST CAPTURING 3 OF THEM, BUT... THAT DEFINITELY USED TO BE OUR FIRST OBJECTIVE..." Gon suddenly shouts from a higher vantage, "I WANNA BEAT THEM UP!!" Killua looks surprised, "WHAT A SURPRISE." In the next sequence Killua explains their Nen must contain whatever is required to counter the Troupe and that they need to develop their own Nen. Gon reacts with "EH?! WHY?" while running down stairs. Killua states the fastest way is to ask Kurapika. Gon asks "ARE YOU SURE?" and Killua replies they will know if they ask him. Gon exclaims "WHAT?!" upon learning the chain user who killed one of the Troupe is Kurapika. Killua notes, "KURAPIKA STARTED USING NEN AT THE SAME TIME WE DID. IF THAT'S THE CASE, WE MAY HAVE A CHANCE AS WELL." The two boys run together down the long staircase as Gon says, "I KNEW YOU WOULDN'T UNDERSTAND."

Killua stands in profile with spiky white hair, his expression serious as he speaks. "But if we want to fight against the Ryodan, we have to surpass those. Of course, we have our own skills and abilities." Gon, standing beside him in a sleeveless shirt, replies simply, "Yep." In the next panel Gon asks, "And you think Kurapika knows the way to do it?" The scene shifts to a busy train platform where several people search for someone. A man with glasses holds a phone to his ear and says, "I'm trying to call him." Nearby, another man suggests, "Find a restaurant..." while a third states, "We have to find him."

A caption reads "4 hours before Gon and Killua escaped from the Ryodan." The location is labeled "Ringon Airport." A girl with long light hair in a frilly dress stands in the foreground, shopping bags in hand. She excitedly examines cosmetics, saying "Ah!! That's the foundation I wanted..." and "Oh! This wig is so cute!! And that lipstick, that spray, and this nail polish!!" A small creature-like figure complains, "I'll also buy some clothes." Another voice notes, "Boss, it's about time." In a lower panel the same creature mutters, "Same here... Just shopping with her is going to kill me..." while the girl continues browsing. In the busy airport terminal, travelers move through the doors and past security. A long-haired girl stands in the foreground, glancing sideways. Nearby, a bearded man watches the crowd. The long-haired girl speaks up, asking someone to watch her bags as she heads off. "Watch my bags, okay? I'm going to the bathroom." A man with glasses and a girl wearing a hat and round glasses converse nearby. The girl with the hat reports on information gained from her flute about a target's recovered strength. The man with glasses replies briefly. He questions whether things will be fine for Kurapika. In the lower panels, the man with glasses continues, noting that the target will not hesitate to sacrifice everything for his goal and that he has one priority he must fulfill first. The girl with the hat adds that even if professionals have reached an agreement, there is no reason they will team up as a group. She can only trust the melodies she has heard. The bearded man asks what the other thinks of the idea of pro criminals.

Large text reading "BLA BLA BLA BLA" dominates the top of the page above a group of women chatting in the terminal. A speech bubble questions the point of a life spent killing oneself. Another replies that such a life is not worth living. The bearded man and man with glasses watch a line, wondering if the long-haired girl is still in it and noting she is taking time. A small panel shows an apple machine with sound effects. The man with glasses remarks that having no fun in life is a crime and that he will circle the world with his earnings once the job is done. In a lower panel, the long-haired girl points toward a hallway and says she will check. Suddenly the man with glasses reacts with shock, exclaiming "WHAT?!" as the long-haired girl stands before an open door revealing an empty room, shouting that there is no one inside.

A light-haired girl strides purposefully through a bustling airport terminal, her long hair flowing behind her. She thinks to herself, "MY FATHER'S A LIAR." In the background, travelers move about with luggage and carts. Nearby panels show a group of people waving goodbye with "PROB NO" and "THANKS!" while another figure reacts with "I'LL TCHAC #!" as the girl appears to stumble or fall dramatically. A large black panel emphasizes her internal monologue: "SINCE THE BEGINNING, HE DIDN'T HAVE ANY INTENTION OF BRINGING ME TO THE AUCTION!!" and "I KNOW QUITE WELL THAT IF HE PROMISES SOMETHING, IT'S JUST A LIE."
