Luffy, Anne, Luffy's Grandpa, unidentified pirates ### Summary Page 12: Luffy declares to Anne with a grin, "I'M GOING TO BE A PEACE MAIN!!" Anne watches him silently. Luffy continues, "MY GRANDPA WAS A PEACE MAIN PIRATE, AND..." A flashback begins, showing a large, scarred older man laughing uproariously, "BWA HA HA HA!!!!" He tells a young Luffy, "LUFFY!! BEING A PIRATE IS GRAND. IF YOU'RE A MAN, GO OUT TO THE SEA!!!! GO OUT 'CAUSE I SAID SO!! BWA HA HA HA!!!!" Young Luffy, sitting at a table with a drink, flatly refuses: "NO. I CAN'T SWIM. I DON'T LIKE THE SEA, EITHER." His grandpa looks shocked, exclaiming "WHAT!?" Young Luffy reiterates, "I DON'T WANNA BE A PIRATE!" while his grandpa yells angrily, "I DON'T REMEMBER RAISING MY GRANDSON TO BE SO SELFISH!!" Page 13: In the flashback, young Luffy watches his grandpa's pirate crew arguing over a pile of treasure. They shout, "WE'RE GONNA SPLIT UP THIS VOYAGE'S BOOTY!!" "AAAH, CAPTAIN, YOU'RE TAKING TOO MUCH." "DON'T BE SILLY!! IT'S BECAUSE OF ME THAT WE DIDN'T GET LOST ON THAT ISLAND!!" "I'M THE ONE WHO FOUND THE TREASURE." "I HAD THE MOST BATTLE FEATS." Someone yells, "FIGHT FOR IT!!!" In the next panel, the crew is laid out defeated on the deck while the grandpa flexes his bicep, declaring, "100 YEARS TOO EARLY." The battered crew groans, "STRONG...!!" and "CAPTAIN WINS!!" Young Luffy laughs hysterically at the scene. Later, the grandpa holds up a strange, swirly-patterned fruit, announcing, "HEY LUFFY!! LOOK AT THIS!! IT'S THE 'GOMU GOMU' FRUIT!!!! THE ENEMY SHIP HAPPENED TO HAVE IT!! IT'S A DREAM FRUIT WORTH FIVE BILLION BERIES IF YOU SELL IT, AND..." He is interrupted by young Luffy, who is already chewing on the fruit with a disgusted expression, saying, "NASTY." The grandpa screams in horror, "DON'T EAT IT!!!!"
