Luffy, Morgan, Marines, Koby ### Summary Page 15: The next day, a devastating revelation hits. A young dojo student runs up to Zoro, crying, 'Oh no! Zoro! Something terrible has happened! Kuina... she... she fell down from the stairs... and died!!!' Zoro is shown with a blank, shocked expression. Later, Kuina's body is shown covered with a white cloth. Zoro stands before her father, the sensei, and demands, 'Sensei! Please gift me with her sword!' The sensei agrees, 'Okay... Humans are really fragile beings, Zoro.' Zoro is then seen holding Kuina's sword, crying uncontrollably. He yells at her memory, 'You bastard! Both of us made a promise last night! And now you're running away? Zoro, please don't be like this.' With tears streaming down his face and a fierce grimace, Zoro vows, 'I will be even more greater!! I will become the world's number one swordsman, so famous that even heaven will hear of my great name!' Page 16: The flashback ends, returning to the present at the execution grounds. Zoro, still tied to the cross, glares fiercely and thinks, 'I made a promise...!! I cannot die here!' The Marines have their rifles aimed at him and Koby. Up in the Marine base window, Luffy stretches his arms far back into the room, holding the three katanas. He yells, 'Gomu-Gomu... Rocket!!' Down below, Captain Morgan commands his men, 'Fire!!' The Marines pull the triggers of their rifles. Page 17: The Marines fire their rifles, the sound 'BANG BANG BANG BANG' echoing across the courtyard. Just as the bullets are about to hit Zoro and Koby, Luffy flies in from the sky, propelled by his stretched arms. He lands squarely in front of them, spreading his arms wide. The bullets strike Luffy's body, stretching his rubber skin backward in multiple places. Koby screams in terror, 'Luffy-san!!' Zoro is shocked, yelling, 'You!' Morgan and the Marines watch in disbelief as the bullets fail to pierce Luffy, who stands firm, his straw hat shielding his eyes. Page 18: Luffy's rubber body snaps back, repelling all the bullets. He throws his arms up and laughs heartily, 'HAHAHAHAHAHAHA...' as the bullets ricochet off him and fly back towards the Marines. He shouts, 'It's no use!!' The deflected bullets hit the ground around the panicked Marines, kicking up dust and causing them to scramble for cover, screaming 'WAAAAAAH...!!' Luffy stands triumphantly, completely unharmed.
