Luffy, Jewelry Bonney, Jinbe, Tony Tony Chopper, Egghead ### Summary Page 5: Back at Egghead's scrapyard, Luffy asks Vegapunk why he wants to get off the island when his lab is there. Vegapunk admits, "Ah that's right..." He explains that he has completely used up all the government's research funds and kept continuing his research anyway; even now, the overflowing ideas will not stop. The number of helpers and the amount of funds are no longer enough. Vegapunk then states his dream: "One day, I want to create a kind of world with science... a world where energy is widespread all over the world, free of charge!" Page 6: Vegapunk says the resources that produce energy are fought over by many countries and that this becomes the seed of war. He calls humans foolish beings, but says energy can be felt here, over there, and everywhere else. Luffy, busy eating, has not been listening and asks, "What would that do for everyone?" Vegapunk says that if he can convert the invisible energy around them into visible power, the large fuse of war will be erased from the world. Even though the world is full of it, he believes science will surely reach that point one day.
