Tashigi sees him and shouts, "Strawhat!!" then tries to move, but Smoker orders, "Tashigi, move!!!" The battlefield erupts with impact as Smoker drives his jitte into Luffy and pins him back. Luffy cries out, and Tashigi is thrown aside by the force of the clash. The page shifts the threat from the mass of Marines to a personal rematch: Smoker has found Luffy again in the middle of Marineford and blocks his path to Ace. Luffy realizes Smoker is way stronger than before, while Smoker says, "I believe that goes for both of us. But you cannot defeat me with your ability!!!" He pins Luffy with the kairouseki jitte and explains that he can see exactly why Dragon saved Luffy back in Loguetown. Luffy's strength fades under the sea-stone and he gasps, "My strength is fading... Damn... That jitte... get it off me...!" Smoker has him trapped and helpless in the middle of the battlefield.
