## One Piece Chapter 104, pages 6-7: A PROMISE ON THE CAPE - Chapter: 104 - Pages: 6-7 - Characters: Crocus, Sanji, Usopp, Nami, Laboon ### Summary Page 6: Crocus continues his explanation, describing the Grand Line: "A place where common sense fails to uphold... That place is this sea, the Grand Line, and it rules with fear over the faint-hearted." Sanji summarizes the grim situation: "So basically, those cowards were more concerned about their lives than keeping a promise, and thus left Grand Line to never return again..." Usopp is outraged, yelling, "So they just abandoned the whale behind!? Even though this whale never doubted them, and has been waiting here for over 50 years...! How could they be so cruel!?" Nami asks Crocus, "If that's the case, then why haven't you tried telling the whale the truth? This whale can understand human words, right!?" Crocus replies solemnly, "I have. I've told him the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth. But he refuses to listen." He looks out at Laboon, remembering when he tried to speak to him, saying, "Laboon, I have something to say." Page 7: A flashback shows Crocus standing on the rocky shore, speaking to Laboon, who is floating calmly in the water. Crocus tells the whale, "It's about those pirates who entrusted you to me... It seems they've already left Grand Line..." He continues, "I know they were your good friends, and that you think they would've kept their promise no matter what... But they're not going to come back here ever again." Laboon's large eye widens in shock as the words sink in. The whale then erupts in a massive, anguished roar, "BUOOOHHHHH!", thrashing violently in the water and sending huge waves crashing against the shore.
