## One Piece Chapter 1.1, pages 37-39: Romance Dawn - Chapter: 1.1 - Pages: 37-39 - Characters: Shiruku, Monkey D. Luffy, Pirates ### Summary Page 37: On the shore, Shiruku is on her hands and knees, coughing up seawater (SFX: *COUGH COUGH*). Luffy sits up next to her, completely fine, and says, "THANK YOU, I OWE YOU MY LIFE!!" Shiruku, still recovering, asks, "ARE YOU ALL RIGHT?" Luffy immediately looks around and demands, "WHERE IS HE!!?" Shiruku is taken aback, "EH!?" Luffy spots the pirate ship sailing away in the distance and says, "THAT, HUH?" He glares at the ship, declaring, "I WON'T LET YOU ESCAPE...!!" Shiruku yells at him, "IT'S NO USE NOW!! YOU CAN'T REACH THEM." She continues, "UNDERSTAND HOW PRECIOUS SOMETHING YOU TREASURE IS BUT..." and "IF YOU UNDERSTAND, YOU KNOW THERE'S NO WAY I CAN FORGIVE HIM!!" Luffy clenches his teeth, his face full of intense anger, and replies, "IT'S THE SAME...!!!!" Shiruku looks confused, "EH...", as Luffy suddenly dashes away (SFX: *DASH*). Luffy runs to a high vantage point overlooking the sea. A large "SFX: DON!" emphasizes his stance. Shiruku watches him from below as Luffy gauges the distance and says, "OKAY, THIS SEEMS ABOUT RIGHT." Page 38: Luffy stretches his right arm incredibly far back (SFX: *STRETCHING*). He grunts with effort, "MUN!!". His hand reaches far behind him and grabs onto the mast of a small boat docked nearby with a loud *GRAB*. Using his stretched arm like a giant rubber band, Luffy launches himself forward. Action lines show him rocketing through the air at high speed, flying straight towards the distant pirate ship. A close-up of Luffy's face shows him grinning fiercely as he flies, yelling, "SHOOT!!!!" Page 39: Shiruku watches from the shore in absolute shock, yelling, "HE FLEW!!!" High in the sky, Luffy flies through the air with his arms outstretched, shouting, "GYARI!!!" and "WAIT FOR ME!!!!" As he approaches the pirate ship, Luffy suddenly inhales deeply, inflating his body into a massive balloon shape. He says, "HAPU" (SFX: BAFU!!). This inflated form acts as a parachute, causing a "DECELERATION" as he nears the ship. He drops down towards the pirate ship, landing heavily on the deck with a loud "SFX: DOFU!". A pirate on board looks up in surprise, "!?"
