When he sits up, a ragged bird cries "GYAA GYAA" nearby and smaller sounds like "CHICH... CHICH..." fill the dense jungle. Luffy blinks in confusion at a bird flying above the palms and mutters, "HM?" Farther in, a gigantic boar-like animal with tusks peers through the trees with "FUGO FUGO..." while Luffy, tiny by comparison, sits in the path below it. He finally registers the miracle of surviving and says, "... I'M ALIVE...!!" The forest answers with heavy "PAKI PAKI!!" cracking sounds, dense roots, huge leaves, mushrooms, and animals all around. The island is lush and dangerous, and Luffy has landed deep inside it with no supplies, no crew, and no idea where he is. Page 8: Luffy studies the deep, soft impact crater and concludes, "DOESN'T LOOK LIKE IT SURVIVED BECAUSE I'M RUBBER." Looking at the huge nearby animal, he notices, "AND WHAT'S THIS MARK THAT LOOKS LIKE THE THING ON THAT BEAR GUY'S HAND...?" He hopes aloud, "I HOPE THAT EVERYONE ELSE WAS SAVED LIKE THIS, TOO." The thought snaps him back to his goal: "... ANYWAY, I HAVE TO GO BACK...!! WHERE IS THIS... AND WHICH WAY IS THE SHABONDY ARCHIPELAGO...?" He puts his straw hat back on with an "AH!" and "THAT'S RIGHT!" then digs out the vivre card. Holding the small paper marked "Rayleigh" in his palm, he says, "I'VE GOT THE VIVRE CARD!! THANK GOD!! EVERYONE HAS ONE!!" Luffy is relieved: "FUU... ALL RIGHT, I'M GOING BACK!! I'VE GOT TO HEAD BACK FOR NOW!! I'M SURE I'LL BE ABLE TO MEET UP WITH THEM AGAIN!!" The card points the way, and he asks, "THAT WAY, HUH?" Page 9: Luffy races through the jungle, breathing "ZEEH... ZEEH..." and yelling "ARRY-AAAAH-HHH!!!" as the giant boar crashes after him.
