Luffy, Six-Sided Spiel, unidentified pirates, Anne, Balloon ### Summary Page 8: Spiel stands before Luffy, holding a broom-like staff. He says, "YOU'RE... THE ONE WHO HELPED CAPTURE THE ROC. I THANK YOU...!! HA HA HA HA!" Luffy stares at him with a completely blank expression, a silent "...!!" in his speech bubble. In the next panel, Luffy points directly at Spiel and states bluntly, "YOU HAVE A FUNNY HEAD." A massive "ZUDOOON" sound effect emphasizes the shock. Behind Spiel, the entire pirate crew stands with their jaws dropped to the floor in absolute disbelief. The pirates immediately panic, sweating and yelling at Luffy, "......!!" "STUPID!!! WERE YOU LISTENING TO ANYTHING!!?" Luffy just laughs, pointing at the captain, "BUT LOOK AT HIM!" Spiel is shown trembling with rage, veins popping on his forehead and his teeth gritted in fury. Page 9: An angry voice from off-panel shouts, "IMPRISON THOSE FOOLS!!!" Luffy and Anne are thrown into a wooden cell, the door slamming shut with a loud "GACHAAN!!" sound. A pirate walks away down the corridor, saying, "BE GOOD KIDS," as the lock clicks with a "CLANK". Inside the cell, Anne sits on the floor, hugging her knees, while Luffy stands looking out a small circular porthole. "IT'S THE SEA," Luffy observes, with a small note adding, "What a great view." Anne glares at him, clenching her fist, and declares, "I WANNA KILL YOU!" Luffy looks back, sweating slightly, and replies, "PLEASE DON'T." He then asks, "WAS THAT OSTRICH YOURS...?" Anne erupts in anger, yelling, "IT'S NOT AN OSTRICH, EITHER!! HE'S A ROC!! HIS NAME IS BALLOON!!" Page 10: Anne begins to reminisce about her bird. A flashback shows a young Anne playing with a baby Balloon. "I'VE BEEN WITH HIM SINCE I CAN REMEMBER," she says. Another flashback panel shows them sleeping peacefully together in a bed. "WE PLAYED TOGETHER AND SLEPT TOGETHER. WE WERE NEVER APART...!" Back in the present, Anne smiles fondly. "TO OTHERS, HE MAY BE JUST A BIRD," she continues. A close-up shows her warm expression as she finishes, "BUT TO ME, HE'S SOMEONE I CAN TRUST MORE THAN ANYONE ELSE: MY BEST FRIEND!" Luffy sits on the floor, listening quietly, and responds, "I SEE." He then asks a direct question: "WHY WERE YOU KIDNAPPED?" Anne looks surprised, a "!" appearing next to her as she turns her head toward him.
