Nami pleads with Usopp, "For Vivi's sake, I want to be able to fight with my own to hands as well!...But you know, it won't be long before we arrive at Alabasta. You of all people can understand how I feel, right, Usopp!?" Usopp is taken aback. "Wait just a second!" Nami looks downcast. "Sorry for asking..." Usopp sighs, "Oh... Yeah, I guess you can't just expect to become stronger that easily..." Suddenly, Usopp strikes a dramatic pose, pointing to the sky. "Are you implying that there's a task on this mortal realm, Impossible for even Usopp the Great...?" Nami instantly brightens up, showering him with praise. "Then you'll make one for me!? Thank you so much, Usopp! I love you!" Usopp tries to bring up payment, "Now, about the costs for the materials..." but Nami ignores him, walking away with a cheerful, "Thank you sooo much! Then I'll leave it to you!" Usopp mutters, "Uhh, weapons don't come free, y'know..." Page 12: Back in the present, Nami stops running. She pulls out three blue baton pieces and grips them tightly. "THAT'S RIGHT... JUST WHAT AM I DOING!? RUNNING AND HIDING FROM PLACE TO PLACE... DIDN'T I MAKE MY MIND UP TO FIGHT!?" She thinks about her friends, "I WONDER IF SHE AND THE OTHERS ARE FINE... IT DOESN'T SEEM LIKE SHE WAS ABLE TO STOP THE REBELS AT THE CITY GATES... I WON'T LET THE B.W. DO AS THEY WISH WITH THIS COUNTRY ANY LONGER!" With renewed determination, she declares, "NO! NOW'S NOT THE TIME TO WORRY!! I'M GOING TO GIVE IT MY BEST SHOT! EVEN I CAN TAKE DOWN A SINGLE WOMAN!" Page 13: Suddenly, a sharp spike pierces completely through Nami's shoulder from behind. She screams in agony, "AGHH!", and collapses to the stone floor. Miss Doublefinger walks up behind her, her fingers transformed into long, sharp spikes that poke into the ground with a "POKE! POKE!" sound. Nami looks back over her injured shoulder, her face pale with shock as she gasps, "WHA!?"
