He says, "Old man... guys... even after I ignored your warnings and ran out on my own... why couldn't you have just forgotten about me!? It's my own fault I ended up like this...!!!" Whitebeard denies that, saying, "No... as I recall, it was I who told you to go after him, my son." Ace is stunned because he knows that is not true.
