They say, "Please... leave this place...!!" and "If you guys had not come here... none of this would have happened...!!" Even if Luffy and the others truly are samurai of the Red Scabbards, the prisoners believe they are doomed against Kaido. One says that Kaido, the gigantic flying dragon, cannot be defeated by anyone, and that the devastation around them was created by just one of his subordinates with a single weapon. Their fear is not just of the virus, but of the overwhelming power behind it. Page 10: The prisoners say that if outsiders had never come, they would have continued to live their normal daily lives and would never have been subjected to this. Luffy hears them and then grabs infected men directly, even as Kiku screams, "No!! You must not touch them, Luffy-taro...!!" The disease spreads onto him, but he drags the suffering prisoners together and shouts, "Stop right there, all of you!!!" His own body starts to burn, but he refuses to let their fear make the choice for them.
