Marines move through the silence and expect nothing living to remain. "Survivors...?" one asks, only for another to answer, "There's no way there'd be any." Then someone notices the lake. "Hey..." "Look at... this lake..." Shock spreads through them: "!?" "This..." The water is packed with books, the scholars' knowledge floating where the flames could not reach it.
