Luffy, Shiruku, Older Woman, Shanks, Red Hair Pirates ### Summary Page 11: The young man is now seated at a table, rapidly stuffing his face with various foods. Sound effects (*MUNCH MUNCH* and Japanese characters for eating) surround him. He critiques the meal between bites: "THIS IS GOOD!!", "AH, THIS IS GROSS!", "THIS IS GOOD!!", and "THIS TOO, BUT THIS ONE'S GROSS.". Shiruku sits across from him, resting her chin on her hand, looking unimpressed. She remarks, "NO WONDER, I THOUGHT YOU LOOKED WEAK," and notes, "YOU DON'T HAVE A WEAPON EITHER". She then asks, "BUT THAT SHIP IS GYARI'S, ISN'T IT? WHERE ARE THEY-". The young man, his cheeks bulging with food, points a finger at her and interrupts, "LISTEN TO WHAT I'M SAYING". After swallowing, he declares, "I'M GOING TO BECOME A PEACE MAIN". Shiruku looks puzzled and repeats, "PEACE MAIN?". The young man explains, "THERE ARE DIFFERENT TYPES OF PIRATES". He elaborates, "VIOLENT PIRATES WHO JUST PILLAGE AND LOOT ARE CALLED 'MORGANIA'". He continues, "'PEACE MAINS' FIGHT THOSE GUYS AND GO ON ADVENTURES". A wider view of the restaurant shows them continuing their conversation. The young man says, "THAT'S WHY I WANT TO MAKE A CREW OF PEACE MAINS," and adds, "AND SAIL WITH THEM, BUT THERE ARE SO MANY MORGANIA PIRATES IN THE WORLD..". Shiruku looks away indifferently, stating, "I DON'T REALLY MIND". She cynically adds, "EITHER ONE WILL JUST WIND UP PLUNDERING IN THE END, WON'T THEY?". She concludes, "I'M NOT AN ALLY OF JUSTICE OR ANYTHING". Page 12: In the present, Luffy, holding his straw hat, tells Shiruku, "THIS HAT", "IT'S MY TREASURE," "BUT IT DOESN'T BELONG TO ME". Shiruku, looking surprised, asks, "DO YOU HAVE A TREASURE?" and then repeats, "TREASURE?". A flashback begins. A man with red hair, Shanks, laughs uproariously, "HAHAHAHAHA" (SFX: HAHAHAHAHA). He tells a young Luffy, "AS IF YOU COULD BECOME A PIRATE!!", "NOT BEING ABLE TO SWIM IS A HUGE WEAKNESS TO A PIRATE!!". In a smaller panel, Shanks explains, "SOME PEACE MAINS USED THE TOWN I CAME FROM AS A BASE", "A LONG TIME AGO,". In a wide shot, Shanks and his crew are gathered around. Young Luffy stands on a crate, declaring, "IT'S FINE AS LONG AS I DON'T FALL OFF THE SHIP!", "BESIDES, IN THAT TIME I'LL LEARN HOW TO SWIM!", "SO TAKE ME WITH YOU ON YOUR NEXT JOURNEY!!". Shanks, sitting nearby, replies, "SURE, WHEN YOU ARE TEN YEARS OLDER". Luffy retorts, "STINGEY!!". In the background, Shanks' crew members laugh and encourage Luffy's romanticized view of piracy: "HAHA HAHA LUFFY!", "LUFFY!! BEING A PIRATE IS FUN!", "THE SEA IS BIG AND VAST!! THERE ARE SO MANY ISLANDS TO VENTURE TO!", "ABOVE ALL ELSE, IT'S FREEDOM!!".
