The infected men and former rebels stare at him, and even the guards realize that he is pulling on their heartstrings. Babanuki sees an opening while Luffy is focused on the crowd. He prepares the excitement shell, a giant round that carries two hundred times the virus within the excitement bullets. If he shoots it into that crowd, it will cause an uproar and the tides will swing back in his favor. Page 16: Babanuki raises the elephant-shaped launcher and begins firing the excitement shell, but Luffy has already seen the danger. Someone shouts that Old Maid is planning to shoot something at them, and the prisoners beg him not to. Babanuki laughs, "It's too late!!!" Then, as he fires, Luffy moves. With a twist of power and timing, he bends the elephant trunk back on itself. Babanuki realizes too late that he saw a slightly dangerous future.
