## One Piece Chapter 1.2, pages 30-33: Romance Dawn - Chapter: 1.2 - Pages: 30-33 - Characters: Monkey D. Luffy, Six-Sided Spiel, Anne, unidentified pirates, Balloon ### Summary Page 30: A large, dynamic splash page shows the immediate aftermath of Luffy's punch. Luffy stands on the deck of the ship, leaning forward and holding his straw hat onto his head with his left hand. His right arm is stretched out to an impossible length, looping high into the air in a massive arc. At the very end of his stretched fist, the pirate captain Spiel is sent flying far off into the distance from the impact of the blow. There is no dialogue on this page, only the visual spectacle of Luffy's elongated rubber arm and the defeated captain soaring through the sky. Page 31: In the top left panel, Luffy's stretched arm snaps back to his body with a sharp sound effect. He stands calmly, holding his straw hat. In the top middle panel, Anne stares in absolute shock, a bead of sweat on her face, uttering a stunned "......!! GWE!". In the top right panel, the pirate crew is in a state of utter panic and disbelief. Their eyes bulge and jaws drop as they scream, "HIS ARM STRETCH-ED~~~!!!". The bottom panel features a wide shot of the chaotic deck of the pirate ship. The crew members are freaking out, with one yelling, "WHAT IS THIS GUY!!!?" and another asking, "A-ARE WE HAVING A DREAM!!?". In the center of the commotion, Luffy stands completely unfazed, casually adjusting his straw hat. Page 32: In the top panel, Luffy turns to face Anne and the terrified pirates, smiling casually. He says, "SO I TOLD YOU I ATE THE GOMU GOMU FRUIT, RIGHT? ISN'T IT FUNNY?". Anne, still sweating and bewildered, asks, "W-WHAT ARE YOU...!?". The pirates watch him nervously. In the middle panel, Luffy grabs his own cheeks and stretches them far out to the sides, demonstrating his powers with a wide grin. He proudly declares, "I'M A HEAD-TO-TOE RUBBER-MAN." A smaller bubble next to him adds, "IN EXCHANGE FOR BEING A HAMMER FOREVER." In the bottom panel, Anne's eyes widen in shock as she yells, "R-RUBBER MAN!!?". Behind her, the pirates are losing their minds, screaming and clutching their heads in terror at the revelation. Page 33: In the top left panel, Luffy looks up with a serious expression. Next to him, Anne looks up in horror, screaming, "BAL-LOON!!!". In the top right panel, high in the sky, Spiel is flying away on his broomstick, carrying the captured bird, Balloon, under his arm. Balloon struggles and squawks, "GWAAAH GWAAAH!". Spiel calls down to them, "YOU STRETCH YOURSELF THERE FOR THE REST OF YOUR LIFE. YOU DON'T NEED TO CALL ME CAPTAIN. I HAVE NO USE FOR THIS SHIP ANY MORE." In the middle panel, a pirate on the deck reaches out, yelling, "CAP-TAIN!!". Spiel continues his monologue from the sky, "I GOT THE TREASURE I WANTED. I WAS DISGRACED A LITTLE AT THE END, BUT I'M GOING TO EXCUSE MYSELF NOW." He wears a wicked grin. The bottom panel shows a close-up of Spiel's face as he laughs maniacally and shouts his final parting words, "FARE WELL, RUBBER MAN!!!".
