Kinemon calls through the snail, and Kawamatsu tells him, "Kawamatsu! I'm so glad you're still alive!" He reports that what happened at Udon has swelled their ranks, but they are struggling to find enough weapons and armor. Kawamatsu answers that Orochi has confiscated all the swords in the country over the last twenty years.
