## One Piece Chapter 62, pages 15-18: MH5 - Chapter: 62 - Pages: 15-18 - Characters: Monkey D. Luffy, Don Krieg, Baratie cooks, Sanji, Gin ### Summary Page 15: Luffy lies face down on the wooden deck, wearing a gas mask and panting heavily with "HASU HASU" sounds. He says in relief, "WHEW... I'M SAVED... THANK GOD I FOUND THIS MASK LYING ON THE GROUND IN TIME." Don Krieg stands on the wreckage of his ship, looking out toward the gas-covered Baratie. In the water, the Baratie cooks pop their heads above the surface with "ZABA!!" splashes and "PUHA" breaths. Seeing the devastation, one cook says, "PIRATES USING POISON GAS... THIS IS UNHEARD OF!" Another adds, "HE'S A DEMON FOR SURE!" Page 16: The Baratie cooks tread water, noticing a change in the air. One says, "IT'S ALREADY BEEN 5 MINUTES... DO YOU THINK SANJI AND THE ERRAND BOY ARE ALRIGHT...?" Another points and shouts, "WHO KNOWS... HEY, LOOK! THE POISON GAS IS CLEARING UP!" The thick gas cloud around the Baratie begins to dissipate, blowing away with an "OOOOO" wind sound. On the deck, Sanji tries to force a gas mask onto Gin, but Gin blocks him with his hands. Sanji yells, "MOVE YOUR HAND!" while an off-panel voice cries out, "GIN!" Page 17: As the gas clears, Sanji is seen straddling Gin on the deck, still trying to make him use the gas mask while Luffy sits safely in the background. An off-panel voice yells, "GIN!" A close-up reveals Gin in terrible condition; he is trembling violently with "GAKU GAKU GAKU" sounds and coughing up blood that drips with "BOTA BOTA" sounds. He groans, "UGH..." Luffy runs over in shock, screaming, "GIN! WHERE'S YOUR MASK!?" Gin suddenly collapses backward, coughing violently with a "GAKU... TSU!!" sound. Sanji looks down at him in horror. Luffy yells "GIN!" again. In a small inset panel, Luffy remembers throwing the mask toward Sanji and realizes, "DIDN'T I... GIVE YOU A MASK...!?" Page 18: Don Krieg smirks from his vantage point, callously stating, "WELL... IDIOTS WILL NEVER UNDERSTAND UNTIL THEY DIE..." He looks at the scene on the deck where Sanji and Luffy stand over the fallen Gin. Krieg continues, "THAT'S WHAT HE GETS FOR THINKING HE'S ETERNALLY INDEBTED JUST FOR RECEIVING SOME GRUB. HAHAHAHA! WHAT A FOOL!" Sanji glares downward, furious and sweating, and says, "IT SEEMS YOU'VE CHOSEN THE WRONG MAN TO FOLLOW!" Gin, trembling uncontrollably with "GAKU GAKU GAKU" sounds and bleeding from his mouth, weakly mutters, "D... ON...?" Krieg's cruel laughter, "HAHAHAHA!", echoes off-panel. Enraged by the betrayal and cruelty, Luffy's face is shown in an extreme close-up, veins bulging as he screams at the top of his lungs, "KRIIIEG!!!"
