In a spacious modern lobby, Nobunaga stands with Pakunoda beside him, both looking toward the entrance. Gon, Killua, and Kurapika watch from nearby as Pakunoda remarks, "HERE COME PAKU AND THE OTHERS." Nobunaga reacts with surprise, "OH !?" The scene shifts to a wide view of the hall where the mustached man confronts the group from behind, exclaiming, "YOU WERE CAUGHT AGAIN ?!" Gon explains, "WE DIDN'T KNOW. THAT'S ALL." The mustached man continues, "THE REWARD FOR THE CAPTURE OF THE RYODAN WAS CANCELLED, AND... YOU'VE FINALLY CHANGED YOUR MIND AND WANT TO ENTER THE RYODAN?" Laughing heartily he adds, "HA! HA! HA! I UNDERSTAND!!!"

The mustached man suggests fate wants them to meet again. Gon firmly replies, "NO WAY." The mustached man proposes they will become good friends. Killua states the same goes for him and explains they followed because there was a reward. The mustached man laughs, "HE! HE!" while Gon reacts with surprise at a nearby sound. The mustached man then addresses the cross-marked man, "SO, DANCHOU? THESE KIDS ARE GREAT, AREN'T THEY?"

Pakunoda stands with a serious expression as a voice instructs her, 'PAKU! CHECK THEM ONCE MORE BEFORE THAT...' She turns toward Gon and Killua. Someone remarks, 'THAT'S BECAUSE THEY'RE ONLY KIDS. THEY DON'T KNOW THE MEANING OF FEAR.' Another suggests, 'ASK "WHAT DOES THE CHAIN GUY LOOK LIKE?"' Pakunoda's eyes narrow in thought. 'WHAT SHOULD I ASK THEM?' she wonders. In close-up, her intense gaze fills the frame as she decides, 'I WANT TO KNOW... WHAT THEY HIDE.' A massive 'DOM DOM' sound effect erupts as her ability activates. Pakunoda extends her hand with motion lines. Gon insists, 'WE AREN'T HIDING ANYTHING, WE DON'T KNOW ANYTHING.' Pakunoda asks how old Gon is and what his hobbies are. Gon insists she is mistaken about something. Pakunoda explains that her ability works like ripples on a lake when a rock is thrown in, contacting the original memory at its lowest point. She states she is reading the memory from its deepest place in its origin and that there is no risk the target would read her thoughts voluntarily. Gon claims he is twenty-four and often told he looks like the top model Garuho. Pakunoda laughs and says it sounds like he is hitting on her. She declares it is impossible to fool her, bids farewell until next week, and notes that her hobby is to talk nonsense.

A blonde girl with pigtails counters that if Gon truly intends to strike, he should aim for the neck because she has already protected herself.
