Kuzan
Kuzan is a former Marine Headquarters Vice Admiral later known as Admiral Aokiji who possesses an ice-based Devil Fruit ability. He participates in the Ohara operation as a Vice Admiral and later leaves the Marines after a duel for the fleet admiral position. Kuzan joins the Blackbeard Pirates as their Tenth Captain while claiming membership in SWORD and maintains ties to former colleagues such as Garp and Smoker.
Throughout his career Kuzan demonstrates ice powers in confrontations and expresses views on justice that prioritize the greater good of the world. He travels with a penguin-like companion after departing the Marines and becomes involved in events on Hachinosu where he clashes with his former mentor.
Appearance
Kuzan wears a black cap with Marine symbol and sunglasses while stretching his arms wide aboard a Marine ship. His long dark hair flows outward during sudden movements and he appears in a long coat that flows as he walks across ice with hands in pockets.12
After leaving the Marines Kuzan stands tall with wild curly hair, feathered coat billowing, bare chest, and striped pants in snowy terrain. He sits on a snowy rock formation holding a bowl of shaved ice with one leg raised and bent posture beside his penguin-like companion Camel.34
Personality
Kuzan reacts angrily when awakened aboard a Marine ship near Ohara and questions why he was woken just to receive a report. He speaks in a casual tone while wishing luck locating a village and advising warmer clothing after freezing an area.56
Kuzan states he has no opinion if an action serves the greater good of the world and internally questions whether an ex-marine interfering with a Buster Call is problematic. After leaving the Marines he declares he will live life on his own terms and refuses to obey orders from former superiors.78
Abilities and powers
Kuzan possesses an ice-based Devil Fruit ability that allows him to deploy an ice block technique to intercept an attack and counter with a giant ice block projectile. He activates an Ice Ball technique while clashing with opponents and uses Ice Glove during direct combat.978

Kuzan leaves the Marines following a fierce duel with Akainu over the fleet admiral position. Roughly a year later on a certain island in the New World he encounters the Blackbeard Pirates and eventually joins them as their Tenth Captain while claiming membership in SWORD.1314

Kuzan receives reports aboard a Marine ship regarding Chief Spandyne of CP9 arriving at Ohara and reacts with anger at being awakened for the information. He later appears in Water 7 where Garp discusses returning due to the Straw Hat crew sighting and Kuzan questions whether it is acceptable for him to remain present during the discussion.1516
Later affiliations
Kuzan appears on Punk Hazard in a feathered coat during a snowy confrontation and intervenes to protect Smoker from Doflamingo while advising contact with Sakazuki about mobilizing admirals due to the dire situation. He later joins forces with Blackbeard and claims membership in SWORD during an encounter on Hachinosu where Blackbeard keeps him alive as a bargaining chip.1718

Kuzan maintains a mentor-pupil bond with Garp that ends during their clash on Hachinosu when Kuzan declares they are through and accuses Garp of raising enemies. He confirms his identity to Smoker on a snowy battlefield and warns him not to underestimate Doflamingo.1920
