Pariston stands in a dramatic close-up, striped suit gleaming under radiating lines and sparkles. He raises one hand in greeting with a wide, cheerful grin and declares, "YAAAA, SORRY TO KEEP YOU WAITING." A second bubble adds, "I'M TRULY SORRY!!!" Several characters mutter "LAAAH SCUM SCUM" while another states, "THINGS RELATING TO EAST GORTEAU HAVE BEEN REAL HECTIC." A tired voice adds, "MAN, I'M BEAT." Pariston walks in from the right. In the bottom tier, Pariston approaches two guards; one guard exclaims "KARAKARA" as Pariston says, "PARDON ME." A guard replies, "AH," and another orders, "HURRY AND SIT DOWN."

Pariston sits at the head of the table with hands clasped and a broad grin, SFX reading "NIKO NIKO (GRINNING)". A spiky-haired man on the left glares and shouts, "WHY ARE YOU ACTING LIKE YOU'RE SUDDENLY IN CHARGE?!" Pariston replies, "HANG ON A SEC!" and continues, "LET THE MEETING REGARDING THE ELECTION OF THE NEXT CHAIRMAN BEGIN!" and "NOW THEN, LET'S GET DOWN TO BUSINESS." A small girl with rabbit ears yells, "PARISTON, SHUT UP!! YOU'RE GROSS!! JUST DISAPPEAR!!" Pariston answers, "DON'T JUST BUTT IN WHEN YOU COME LATE, OKAAAAAY?" and asks, "HUH? WOULD YOU PREFER IF I WEREN'T?" In the large bottom panel Pariston leans forward with eyes closed and a beaming smile, declaring, "BUT WHAT CAN I DO? I MEAN, I'M THE VICE CHAIRMAN!!!" He adds, "WELL, I THOUGHT IT WAS A BIT FORWARD AS WELL."

In the meeting room, a bald muscular man with a fierce expression declares that in terms of seniority the one with the most is Botobai-san. Beside him, a girl with glasses and a headband states that in terms of practical progressive ability the best is Chidori-san. The spiky-haired man in a pinstripe suit stands at the head of the table with arms spread, announcing that everyone would like to get this done as soon as possible and that he is a fairly able mediator, higher ranked than all of them by just a little. He adds that this is all he thought. The suited man then asks whether either of the two would like to lead, noting that both are certainly more competent than him. The bald man replies that he concurs. The suited man smiles calmly while the girl with glasses smirks and remarks about holding back and being harassed anyhow, labeling someone a rat. The bald man growls that if anyone wants to be in charge they should just say it straight out, calling the suited man scum, while the suited man keeps leading the meeting with a composed expression.

The room erupts as several members shout 'No way in hell!!' in protest. The suited man raises his hand and calls for a show of hands. A fish-like creature and other attendees react with shock and raised arms. The suited man asks if there is anyone who objects to him humbly moving them forward. A tall woman in a black dress raises her hand. The suited man states he will step down at any time if there is dissatisfaction. He notes that four are against while the minority can continue with a deliberate leader. From the back, the suited man announces he has a proposal. In a sparkling close-up, he smiles broadly and suggests skipping the election altogether, declaring his candidacy as chairman.

In a smoke-filled, chaotic scene, a man in a pinstripe suit stands with his back turned, facing a towering figure in ornate clothing and a crown-like helmet. Around them, soldiers in helmets and gas masks point weapons, while several figures lie on the ground amid debris and dark clouds. A large masked creature looms in the background. The discussion continues as the group debates using beans for a fair one-in-twelve chance and considers a third party. They explore systems where voters write names on slips so identities are known, or methods that might put Pariston at a disadvantage. One speaker insists it would not be quite fair if ten of them devise a method that could favor Pariston five-to-six. Ging, with spiky hair, shouts That's true!! while another voice mutters Not bad. At the bottom of the page a blond man in a striped suit raises his finger and suggests writing their names on the lots so everyone knows whose suggestions they are, adding that he bets he will not lose.

The group is told they have placed twelve papers in a box. A round-headed character in the foreground sweats and mutters that the responsibility is important.
