The answer
Chapter 27 · updated
Kaya believes Usopp is lying to her about the butler. In their confrontation at the mansion window, Kaya explicitly accuses Usopp of fabricating stories for revenge, stating she cannot accept his claims about Clahador. She recalls enjoying his past lies as hopeful dreams but now sees his current words as harmful fabrications against a good person. Usopp insists he speaks the truth, yet Kaya turns away in tears and calls him a terrible person before guards intervene. Later scenes show her slapping him and declaring it impossible to believe him in his desperate state. The manga depicts Kaya rejecting the warning outright without any indication she suspects the butler's true identity. ch. 27, p. 12 ch. 27, p. 11 ch. 27, p. 17
