On Level 5 he met Ivankov, who agreed to help free Ace and declared, "We will go to save Ace Boy and then make our escape from Impel Down!!!" ch. 539, p. 11. Luffy shouted, "All right, just wait, Ace!!! I'm coming now!!!" after receiving adrenaline hormones to keep fighting ch. 539, p. 11. The group reached Level 6 only to find Ace already moved upward, prompting Luffy to continue the chase toward Marine Headquarters ch. 540, p. 10.
