In Haralds flashback we see the giants can navigate by stars. Nami will learn this from the giants at the end of the arc. This will be necessary to reach laughtale. Since it cannot be found on log poses and compasses do not work in the grand line the only things people can refer to for direction are the stars. The road poneglyphs are a star map.
