PROMISE

From behind, Gon asks "AND?" while another character speculates that the party who injured the girl was probably their side and mentions Pitou healing her via Gramps' Dragon Dive. Gon turns with a blank expression and replies "SO WHAT?" In tighter panels the other character wonders if they should wait until the healing finishes. Gon suddenly erupts in rage, shouting "PROBABLY!!! MAYBE!!!! ARE YOU SERIOUS?!?!?" and "AND AFTER WE WAIT, WHETHER OR NOT SHE DOES WHAT I SAY IS ANOTHER PROBABLY, ISN'T IT?!?!"

Gon leans forward with a fierce glare, shouting 'GET REAL!!!' Pitou, ears twitching, snaps back 'GIVE ME A BREAK!' In a close-up, Pitou's eyes widen in disbelief, yelling 'HAVE YOU GONE NUTS!??' and 'SAYING WE SHOULD BELIEVE...' Killua stands with his back partly turned, arm extended toward a massive mesh-like figure, declaring 'LIKE THIS!??' and 'BELIEVE THE WORDS OF A THING.' Gon watches silently from the side. The mesh creature looms larger, roaring 'THERE'S NO WAY WE COULD!!!!' as dust swirls around the tense standoff.

Pitou launches into a powerful strike, body twisting mid-air amid explosive motion lines and debris. The impact sends rocks flying as the ground cracks violently. In a small inset, Gon and Killua stare upward in shock, eyes wide. The wide view reveals a devastated rocky landscape: Pitou lies sprawled on the ground, Killua stands ready in the center, and Gon sits on the right amid scattered boulders and dust clouds. The air is thick with the aftermath of the clash.

A boy with glasses stares tensely to the side while sweat beads form on his face. Beside him, a black-haired boy looks on with wide eyes and an open mouth. A close-up shows a hand gripping a dark, damaged surface with a jagged hole punched through it. In a large central panel, a girl with long pigtails and wide, tear-filled eyes smiles faintly despite the sweat on her face. She offers, "YOU MAY ALSO HAVE MY RIGHT ARM." and adds, "IF YOU SO DESIRE..." Below, the black-haired boy and a spiky-haired boy stand together in shock. The girl continues, stating "BOTH LEGS ......" and "AND IF THAT ISN'T ENOUGH..." A close-up reveals her intense, unblinking eye. In the bottom panels she pleads further: "I DON'T EVEN MIND IF YOU DESTROY ME...!" while insisting "AS LONG... AS IT DOES NOT IMPEDE HER HEALING..." She warns the spiky-haired boy, "YOU FEEL THAT I AM ACTING EVEN SLIGHTLY SUSPICIOUS," and finishes with "IF, AFTER THE HEALING IS FINISHED ..."

In a dramatic close-up, the pigtail-haired girl leans forward with tears streaming down her face, her eyes wide and desperate. She begs, "PLEASE LET ME SAVE HER...!!!" and adds, "I'M BEGGING YOU, THOUGH ..." A panel shows the spiky-haired boy staring upward with sweat pouring down his face and mouth slightly open in shock. The final panel delivers an extreme close-up of the same boy's face twisted in anguish, eyes squeezed shut, teeth clenched, and covered in heavy sweat as motion lines and impact effects surround him.

Gon stands rigid with spiky hair and a furious glare, surrounded by heavy black impact bars and radiating motion lines that fill the page. Below, a battered figure lies on the ground gasping in pain. Inset panels show the figure's sweat-drenched face and Killua's wide-eyed, shocked expression in close-up. The figure utters strained sounds of agony.

Neferpitou lies on the ground with arms raised, shouting 'THAT ISN'T FAIR!!!' and 'THAT ISN'T FAIR, DAMMIT!!!'. Gon stands behind with a dark aura. In the next panel Gon lunges forward with a contorted face, yelling 'AFTER DOING SUCH A HORRIBLE THING TO KAITO!!! WHY ARE YOU ONLY THINKING OF HER?!?!'. At the bottom Gon runs ahead with Killua chasing and shouting 'WHY, DAMMIT?!' and 'GON!!'.

Gon stands amid a violent explosion of dark energy, his body tense and fists clenched as massive black impact lines and jagged aura burst outward in all directions. The sound effect 'WH' rips across the upper right. Below, three smaller panels show the aftermath: Gon faces away with his back to the viewer while two figures lie on the ground, one emitting repeated 'UU... UU... UU...' groans. In the next panel Gon raises a hand to his head, his expression twisted in fury. The final panel shows Killua's close-up face, eyes wide with alarm and sweat visible on his cheek.

A close-up shows Gon snarling with the words 'DON'T MESS AROUND WITH ME ...' in a jagged speech bubble. The next panel reveals a long-haired character with closed eyes and a worried expression as Gon lunges forward in a blur of motion, impact lines streaking behind him. Speech bubbles read 'GON!!' and 'FIRST IS---'. In the bottom panel Killua's face fills the frame, his eyes intense as he states 'KAITO WILL NEVER COME BACK.' and 'IF YOU KILL NOW,'.

Killua stands tense, his back partially visible as he thinks 'MUST BE NICE'. A small panel shows him from behind with ellipsis bubbles. In the wide scene, rubble and smoke fill a ruined area where one figure kneels on the ground while Gon and Killua stand facing the destruction. Killua watches silently. A large narration box declares 'TO BE SO COOL LIKE THAT.' In the darkness below, Killua walks away with his back to the viewer as two speech bubbles read 'IS OF NO CONCERN TO YOU.' and 'SINCE THIS'.

A large close-up shows Killua's face with wild hair and intense eyes. Successive panels zoom in on his eyes and cheek. Gon appears in profile, shouting 'GET AHOLD OF YOURSELF, DUMBASS!!!' and 'YOU'RE GOING TO BRING BACK KAITO!!!'. From behind, Gon and Killua stand side by side as Gon continues 'BUT HAVE YOU FORGOTTEN WHAT YOU SAID ORIGINALLY?' while Killua replies 'I KNOW THIS IS JUST YOUR TEMPER TALKING RIGHT NOW.' A final small panel shows the back of a head.

Gon stands with his face half-shadowed, eyes lowered, and answers quietly. 'YEAH.' A second bubble follows. 'I'M ALRIGHT NOW...'. Killua appears in close-up, hair wild, staring straight ahead with a grave, unblinking expression. The scene shifts to a wider view where Palm kneels on cracked ground, one hand braced for support, her curly hair framing wide eyes that look upward. A pair of legs in loose pants steps forward beside her, the motion marked by a sharp 'ザッ' sound effect that cuts through the air.

Palm's face fills small panels, eyes wide and glistening. A violent image shows something being shredded by countless thin lines. Gon appears next, sweat on his brow, declaring 'I CAN'T WAIT...' and 'THAT'S NO GOOD.'. In the next panel Gon stands facing Palm, asking 'HOW LONG DO I HAVE TO WAIT..?' and 'HOW LONG?'. Palm, seen from behind, answers that full restoration will take three to four hours. Close-ups return to Palm's face, eyes narrowing with resolve. In the large bottom panel she looks up and states she can heal the most critical wounds if she has one hour.

Gon stares forward with wide, intense eyes. In a ruined corridor, Gon stands tall while a cloaked figure kneels before him. The figure pleads, "I BEG YOU..." and "PLEASE ......" A blinding flash illuminates the confrontation as Gon faces Neferpitou directly. Gon declares, "AFTER ONE HOUR, YOU'RE COMING WITH ME TO PEI JING..." and adds, "THEN YOU'RE GOING TO BRING KAITO BACK." Neferpitou's eyes widen in shock. Gon vows, "I PROMISE." Neferpitou responds, "CERTAINLY ......" Gon presses, "CAN YOU PROMISE ME THAT!?" The scene cuts to their feet on cracked ground, Gon's shoes planted firmly beside Neferpitou's.

Neferpitou towers over the seated Gon, shouting "FOR ONE HOUR!!!" Gon sits on rubble with arms crossed, replying "I'LL WAIT HERE" with unwavering resolve. Neferpitou's face shows sweat and a tense, uncertain expression. Gon's eyes narrow sharply in a close-up, his mouth set in a grim line as he maintains his stare.

Gon Freecss stares back over his shoulder with a fierce, determined glare, his spiky black hair framing his face. He grips a broken wooden door or panel with one hand while the other is clenched tightly. Behind him lies a ruined interior filled with scattered rubble, shattered bricks, and a large dark doorway emitting clouds of dust. A massive impact sound effect erupts across the lower half of the panel as the structure collapses further, debris flying from the force of the blow.

Kite lies prone on the ground, long hair cascading over his face and shoulders, his muscular back and arms tense. A large narration box declares: "THE PAST THAT EVEN NOW HASN'T ENDED... EVERYTHING IS FOR THE SAKE OF HIS FRIEND!!!" The stark white background emphasizes the solitary, exhausted figure. The page is marked as the end of chapter 275.
