CONFESSION

Against a night sky with a crescent moon, a large pale creature's head is visible in silhouette. In a forest clearing, a towering insect-like creature looms over the scene while a small mouse-like figure confronts a spiky-haired man. The creature declares, "WE'RE SCUM THAT WOULD THOROUGHLY HAVE THEIR WAY WITH HER WHILE SHE WAS STILL ALIVE." The mouse-like figure replies, "BECAUSE I KNEW THAT THE GROUP THAT WAS CHASING THAT GIRL." Silhouetted figures appear in the next panels as narration continues: "AS AN ANT." and "SHE'LL BE REBORN." The mouse-like character stands with its back to the viewer, watching shadowy ant-like beings repeat violent actions. It thinks, "IS REPEATING ITSELF, I THOUGHT." and "AH...THE SAME THING." Flashback panels show a tall man in a hat standing over a body on the ground with smoke rising from a gunshot. Speech bubbles read, "TO PULL TRIGGERS." and "I WAS ORDERED." The man sits in an office chair saying, "IT WAS A JOB ANYBODY COULD DO." and "IN THE REST OF MY TIME, IF I COULD YELL AT SOMEBODY I WAS HAPPY." A coiled rope-like object appears with the text, "THAT IDIOTIC CYCLE." and "IT REPEATED." A close-up shows a long-haired girl lying injured with tears, while the narrator thinks, "LET HER ESCAPE FROM THIS CYCLE, I THOUGHT." and "THIS GIRL... I WANT TO."

Thoughts drift through a stark cycle where life suddenly becomes subject to senseless violence and is cut short. In a remote area where nothing happened and living an actually peaceful life, after they made sport of her she would die and it would repeat. As things stood she would be captured by them. The speaker admits not understanding the complicated arrangements but recalls the moment of shooting her, praying for her to run away. The desire was to give proactive help in escaping, yet even without that intervention the queen was eating hundreds of humans and among them the number reborn with their previous existence in them was few. In a quiet room a long-haired figure sits at a table while another person in formal attire faces them. By some blessing the speaker has not met an ant with a previous existence that told them you shot and killed me. The fact that you are here in place of that girl means she probably did escape.

A close-up shows a face with wide eyes and an open mouth in shock or realization. On the table a cup releases steam shaped like a soul or ghost while a small black creature clings to the wall. Everyone remarks that she got away well it seems. Before this moment the speaker never believed in a thing like a soul. Silhouetted figures stand over a kneeling person in an outdoor setting as the speaker recalls decomposing and scattering all over when they die. A fly crawls on the ground while the narration explains that humans were seen as bugs of fundamentally the same value as fleas or flies that just lived and died. The speaker thought they were an idiot but now understands they do not want to let things they do not understand pass by. The me that was even though it took on a completely different form became like this here and it repeated. The speaker had thought there was no meaning in that bunch of tiny particles.

It didn't end there. But the creature split into smaller pieces. And I died and broke apart. I died. A koala-like figure in a suit stands with hands clasped, then a small being fragments violently inside a cracked shell, followed by a translucent ghostly form clutching its head as it declares its death. A blinding surge of light fills the next panel as narration continues: I had a power I couldn't even have imagined. Though I thought, 'Having become this small, it's really over?' in my substance. The text explains that this energy can continue to release to the degree where it can affect our health for tens of thousands or hundreds of millions of years. From our perspective, substances that seem incredibly tiny like the size of DNA hold enormous amounts of information in a double-helix shape, and even smaller is DNA.

Some absurdly small things are and even more limitlessly small. A wide narration box spans the top. Below it, a massive cosmic explosion radiates lines outward from a central white sphere, labeled as known as the universe and the conditions that gave birth to the enormous space. The bottom panel shows a star-filled nebula with text stating a thing does not equal the aggregate amount of energy that it can release, and the concept of small is. The Hunter x Hunter logo appears at the very top center.

It held enough energy to repeat. The soul is probably 'small' but. A girl with long hair stares ahead, sweat on her face, as she thinks she was reborn in order to repeat. Something deep down is telling her 'YOU MUSTN'T REPEAT.' She admits she does not know what will happen next after all. The koala-like creature replies that all they have are senses and imagination but thinks that probably. While alive, something that should be given to our hearts is missing, so we have to repeat and redo. The girl reflects that while thinking she is on the right track it means she made a wrong choice. She is surely repeating again. In her case both before and now she thought she was not on the right track. Even with the body if its heart does not have firm determination it does not move well. The koala-like creature concludes that this is not good.

The koala-like creature recalls that it was not the girl but the guys chasing after her. The one he should have shot. A small white creature floats nearby. He was desperate to avoid getting hurt himself. While praying that selfish thought 'run away' the price to purify his stained soul was too painful so he avoided it. It was no big deal it just meant the worst scum was him. He shot her. In order to protect himself the koala-like creature stands with his back turned. The girl with long hair sits with her back to him while he confesses he is just trying to save himself again and by confessing to her who just looks like her.

At a simple table, the long-haired figure sits with their back to the viewer while the small creature with pom-pom ears faces them. "Thanks for listening until the end," the figure says. The creature replies, "Geez... what an unsalvagable story." The figure rises and turns away as the creature calls out, "Don't run away. Wait." The creature stands alone for a moment. In a dramatic close-up, the long-haired person stares forward with wide, intense eyes and visible scars, rain or sweat streaking their face. They declare, "Forever. Come with me. Starting now, live thinking 'this is the only way'. Stay by the side of the me you shot," while pointing directly ahead with one finger.

Close-up on the long-haired person's determined face as they continue, "Keep living apologizing to me every day. Who would allow you to kill yourself and reset? This is your mission." The small creature stands facing the seated figure's back while the speaker adds, "While apologizing to me, work as I say, and live for my sake. Work so hard you don't have time to think the shitty idea 'Am I on the right track?'." A dark panel shows the creature from behind. The speaker concludes with cold resolve, "There is no room for choices. Like at peace. If even a little of the resolve you have now degrades, I'll kill you."

A girl with long dark hair stares forward with wide, shocked eyes and a tense expression. Beside her, Kaito the koala-like figure opens his mouth wide in surprise. From behind, the girl speaks firmly: "LET THEM IN." In the next room, a figure in a hat and coat announces, "KAITO! YOU HAVE A GUEST." Gon stands in the doorway with his back to the viewer, his spiky hair silhouetted, facing Kaito who stands small and upright across the spacious room. The girl sits quietly on a bench to the left. In close-up, the girl's face shows lingering tension and surprise while Gon's face appears with a serious, slightly downturned mouth.

Gon turns his head with a determined look and answers "YEAH." The long-haired girl sits at the table with two small round objects before her; Gon approaches from behind while thinking "KAITO ...?" The girl's face shows a strained, apologetic expression. A large speech bubble reads "SORRY...!" Gon sits down opposite the girl. A pointing hand commands "SIT." followed by another hand gesturing "COME." In the final close-ups the girl's eyes widen further with a Japanese SFX "ズイ" near her face while Gon watches her with a focused, slightly open-mouthed expression.

Gon stares intently at the long-haired figure with visible scars on their face. A small koala-like creature stands nearby. The figure's eyes widen in surprise as they ask what is happening. Gon replies that they couldn't fight together. The long-haired person clenches their fist, recalling the moment they were not strong enough. The koala-like creature comments on the same. In a flashback panel, Gon reaches out and promises to protect Kaito. The scene shifts to a large building under a cloudy sky as the long-haired figure says they will protect Kaito next time. A teacup sits on a table. Gon states he risked his life. The long-haired figure confirms they heard Gon went overboard to defeat Pitou.

The long-haired scarred character explains they did not come alone and mentions Killua and others. Gon sits across from them, responding that he came to make an excuse about the end of the fight. The long-haired character acknowledges that Gon truly defeated the enemy they could not. Both admit they did not have enough training. Gon smiles warmly. The long-haired character asks if Gon spoke with Ging. Gon confirms he did, replying 'YEAH' while sitting on the floor. The long-haired character notes they heard Gon met Ging-san.

Gon stares ahead with wide eyes, his expression tense. The long-haired girl leans in close and urges, "HURRY AND GO BACK." Gon turns away slightly as the girl smiles and says, "I'M DELIGHTED YOU CAME TO SEE ME." She continues, "I KNOW WHAT YOU WANT TO SAY." In the next panels the girl gestures firmly, telling Gon, "GO BACK TO WHERE GING-SAN IS." Gon replies, "SO NOW," and the girl answers, "WE'RE ALREADY COMRADES." She adds, "AND KILLUA, TOO, IF HE'D LIKE. WHEN I NEED HELP, I'LL DEFINITELY CONTACT YOU." The scene shifts to a dramatic wide shot of a large, multi-story building floating amid swirling dark clouds and jagged energy. Gon shouts "YEAH!!" while an ellipsis lingers in the stormy sky.

A wide view shows a street in front of a large building where several small figures stand near the entrance. Gon stands with his arm raised high against a backdrop of ruined walls and swirling energy. In a forest path, distant figures walk away. The long-haired girl stands with the small round-eared figure; the small figure asks, "ABOUT WHAT?" while the girl remains silent with an ellipsis. The girl turns her head and says, "SORRY..." The small figure continues, "TRYING TO RUN FROM EVERYTHING." and "...WANTING THINGS TO BE EASY AND." The long-haired girl replies, "SO WHEN I DIE, I CAN SAY 'I GAVE IT MY ALL'." The small figure answers, "EVEN IF IT'S PAINFUL, I'LL TRY TO LIVE."

A city skyline stretches across the top of the page. Below it, a simple drawing of a large tree is pinned to an easel with the words 'I'll wait at the top of the world tree.' In the next panel, a bald man in a suit stands behind a desk and speaks to Gon, who faces away with his back turned. The man says, 'I tried to stop him, but......' Gon remains silent, shown only by an ellipsis in a speech bubble. In the final panel, a close-up of Gon's face shows him smiling with eyes closed as he thinks, 'He never said he would wait for me here---- It's true...' Vertical text along the left side reads 'YOU CAN'T GO JUST USING NORMAL METHODS!!'
