The sources do not state whether Magellan dies in One Piece. Magellan fights Luffy on the inferno floor using poison techniques including Hydra and Poison Blowfish while Luffy launches Jet Bazooka and Jet Pistol attacks despite the poison coating his arms. ch. 534, p. 16 Magellan declares he will not allow Ace's execution and sentences the defeated intruder to suffer for 24 hours before falling into hell, noting that with that level of exposure there is no way to be cured. ch. 535, p. 10 Later Magellan confronts Blackbeard and his crew with Hydra, then receives praise from Hannyabal who tells him not to die. ch. 544, p. 18
