He first demonstrates the Yami Yami no Mi by creating a black hole that engulfs the battlefield and declares this is the power of his Yami Yami Fruit ch. 577, p. 11. He then claims the Gura Gura no Mi after Whitebeard's death, proclaiming I have got it all and I am the strongest man in the world while combining darkness and earthquake abilities ch. 577, p. 12. Jinbe later confirms Blackbeard stole the quake powers and rose to Yonko status using them ch. 650, p. 6. "I'VE GOT IT ALL! NOBODY CAN STAND AGAINST ME ANYMORE!!!" "I AM THE STRONGEST MAN IN THE WORLD!!!" ch. 577, p. 12. "THE POWER TO RETURN EVERYTHING TO NOTHING, THE GRAVITY OF DARKNESS! Not by the World Government, but by its direct opposition. The Davy Clan.
What if Blackbeard's greatest secret isn't multiple souls, but his ability to control another version of himself in the Abyss?
This theory posits that Blackbeard murdered his mother, Eris, to fully embrace a life of piracy and ambition, drawing a parallel to Doflamingo's patricide and interpreting Oda's statement about mothers being the antonym for adventure as supporting this dark origin story.
