Chapter 444 summary
The Straw Hats realize they are trapped inside the walls of Thriller Bark after the mouth-like gate closes behind the Thousand Sunny. Luffy insists on heading to the island to retrieve Brook, prompting Franky to reveal the Soldier Dock System and launch the Mini Merry II. Nami, Usopp, and Chopper board the small boat and are suddenly pulled toward the island. On the Sunny, invisible forces drop the anchor, open the hatch, stretch Luffy's face, and grab Robin while emitting animal howls. Sanji attempts to reach the others but is struck and sent flying back to the ship, which then drifts away on artificial waves. Nami's group awakens at the bottom of a deep moat inside the island, where they encounter a three-headed Cerberus and flee up a staircase into the forest. The beast loses their trail, but a shadowed figure named Hildon appears behind them and offers help after seeing the wild dogs chase them.
