LORESQUARE
Ever since one piece came out The question everyone asks is " What is the Treasure at the end of the story on Laugh Tale" People haven't gotten much besides trying to formulate an answer that the readers themselves would desire. "The Truth of the void century", "The end of the Red-line and Grand-line into the all Blue", "End of the world government" have been the most popular theories from the fans themselves but Oda wouldn't have this thing still be a mystery 29 years later if it was that easy. But with the final saga and the reveal in egghead of "Devils fruits are made from peoples dreams" also added a new thing to answer that most people ignored. "If Devil Fruits are dreams then why don't we see anymore of them" My theory is that Devil Fruits and the powers of dreams themselves don't just need peoples dreams to manifest into reality. They need a power source. The Treasure that Joy-boy Locked away at Laugh Tale, Roger laughed at, and what Vegapunk thought the future would be shaped by whoever claimed it is "The Sun" That returns at the end of the third world with the Dawn. It will be what Luffy uses to accomplish his dream. It will be the signify that the cycle of Tyranny and chaos of the last 3 worlds came to an end. It not only has the power to allow New Devil fruits to Spawn after it's unleashed but also allow the technology that the ancient Kingdom used to be powered once again and recreate the world Vegapunk hoped for humanity. The final fight of this story will Luffy making sure that BB doesn't use the sun to take over the world but also allow him to achieve his dream. To have a party with the entire world.

The One piece has been hyped up the most of any treasure in any fiction ever. People have been waiting for so long that a good number of One piece readers imagine "Whatever it is it can't live up to the hype" The most common types of answer for what it is devolves into 3 main things people want out of the story it self "The world missing information in the void century", "A state of great change to the one piece world through the Red-line and Grand-Line being destroyed thus uniting the world and making the all Blue" and most commonly change "The missing things that is needed to destroy the WG and ends it's reign" But all of those things tend to really be a "Treasure" and more of a "Conclusion that readers themselves imagine" When Oda himself said in an interview that "The Treasure of the one piece isn't gonna be a friends we made a long the way cliche, It's gonna be a tangible and real thing" and statements from Oda's editors who are the only other ones who know about have backed that up and added "It's hard thing to grasp" Which makes me feels it's something that doesn't make sense to someone who hasn't read the entire story but is a missing piece to a lot of supernatural elements of one piece. The biggest clue we have gotten is the Mural since it Foreshadows the entire thematic endgame of one pieces and the info it brought was big answer again other ideas of what the one piece treasure could be. 1 The Void century wasn't the beginning of the lore of one piece it was actually simply the missing end chapter of the end of the 2nd world. 2 The World government itself isn't as central to the mysteries of the current state of the All Blue Star as it simply is just the lucky victor of the end of the 2nd world not the main reason on why the Dawn hasn't come up. The Dawn failed before the WG existed it didn't fail because of it or Imu. There all the big big factor main one piece fans are missing "What separated the ancient Kingdom from the other 20 kings that caused a world war, made Imu think he could aquire that power and yet fail to gain it due to Joyboy's action." In this mural line "Man killed the sun and claimed to be Gods" and main people think that is because the void century war destroyed the ancient kingdoms advanced technology and that's why the current 3rd world is so backwards but Oda doesn't write like that he writes much more simple of a story and if the "Sun" was an analogy for nuclear power or something than it wouldn't explain on why it couldn't be replicated today with Vegapunk. The Mother flame is just an imitation of the power source of what ever the ancient kingdom. And what is fire to humans but an imitation of a sun? If the ancient Kingdom had a "Sun" that disappeared after the VC it would explain so much. Devil fruit would stop being made if they required that this "Sun" if it was this all powerful way to power turn dreams into energy it would explain on why Vegapunks mother flame could mimmick but not fully regain it's power. The ancient weapons in their hayday used the sun as their source of power and that is why after Joy-boy hid the sun Imu couldn't use it for 800 years afterwards.
The "Dawn" of the world wouldn't just be the end of the WG because they aren't the reason the problems of one piece have existed "Slavery, oppression and chaos have existed in the first long before the WG came to be" The void century war was caused by the 20 kings hating that the ancient Kingdom had "The Sun" all to itself and fought the war over it and tried to claim it. Roger couldn't use it because none of the problems about this planet were fixed when he discovered it and that why he laughed and said "We were too early" Because the Sun can only bring the Dawn in their is someone good enough to use and prevent others from abusing it for power games and evil. That is why it "Change the world by who ever claims" Cause growing devil fruits and turning dreams into energy is literally the easiest thing to use. Dream about treasure? "Use the Sun" to grow a treasure treasure no mi. Want to power an ancient weapons use the Sun to power it. That why the final battle of one piece is gonna be Luffy versus Blackbeard. He is the last heir to the ancient Kingdom and his dreams of desire will literally never end if wins that won't be the Dawn it will be the Dusk that sinks the entire world into darkness. Luffy beating and allowing the sun to be shared by the world would break the cycle and be the answer to epilogue of one piece while making it about a Pirate saving the world by staking claim on the greatest treasure in fiction. Any thoughts on what "The Sun" means in a greater sense of simply how to imagine it not being silly on the great treasure being a cartoon drawing of the Sun that grows devil fruits and turns dream into energy send your thoughts below.
