The Eleven Legs of the Spider

Large white text fills the top of the page, stating: "THE ELEVEN LEGS OF THE SPIDER WILL BECOME HOMESICK. BUT, AGAIN, FIVE MEMBERS WILL BE LOST. YOU SHOULD NOT ABANDON THE HAUNT, AS YOU ARE ALSO ONE OF THE LEGS." Beside it: "THE CLIENT WITH RED EYES WILL COME TO VISIT YOU, HALF ANGEL, HALF GOD OF DEATH. YOU WILL BE ABLE TO SELL HIM THE SECRETS OF THE MOONS. HE WILL BE DELIGHTED TO LEARN THE ONES OF NOVEMBER." In the panels below, Hisoka lunges forward and snatches an object while shouting "GIVE IT TO ME!" Nobunaga questions the meaning of moons and the client with red eyes. Hisoka smirks as the discussion continues. Close-ups show narrowed eyes and tense expressions. The final panel focuses on a shadowed face whispering "HISO KA..."

A blinding flash erupts behind a massive hand gripping the hilt of a sword. In the ruined plaza below, Nobunaga stands with his back to the viewer, sword drawn, facing Uvogin who sits casually on rubble and Machi standing nearby. Speech bubbles emerge: "YOU SOLD..." and "UVO...?". The bottom of the page shows three close-up faces: a woman with a cross tattoo, Uvogin with a star tattoo and tears streaming down his face, and a tense eye.

Hisoka sits with hand on chin as he declares "I'LL TAKE THAT AS A 'YES'!!" while holding a phone that displays "20" and makes a "TAP" sound. Nearby, a group including Franklin and others react with lines like "LET'S HEAR WHAT HE HAS TO SAY FIRST", "CALM DOWN", and "GET AWAY". Chrollo speaks to a young boy about predictions and Danchou, saying "THERE'S NOTHING TO BE SAID". Hisoka later states "WHAT'S WRITTEN IN THE FIRST PARAGRAPH IS TRUE" and "BUT I CAN CONFIRM THAT...". A voice calls "HEY! CALM DOWN!" and "DID YOU HEAR HIM? LET ME PAST!!" while another says "HISOKA! EXPLAIN WHAT HAPPENED IN THE LAST WEEK!".

Hisoka, marked with a spade on his cheek, faces the star-marked youth and states, "CONSEQUENTLY, I CAN'T ANSWER YOU." The youth presses, "WHY CAN'T YOU SAY ANYTHING?" Hisoka replies, "IF I COULD EXPLAIN, YOU WOULD UNDERSTAND WHY IT IS THAT I CANNOT." In close-up, Hisoka's face shows a tear as he continues, "I CAN'T SAY ANY MORE. IT'S NOT THAT I DON'T WANT TO, IT'S BECAUSE I CAN'T." The scene shifts to rubble where Nobunaga, topknot and robe, stands over two children; he mutters, "TOO COMPLICATED FOR ME TO FIGHT AGAINST YOU. PFF... I GIVE UP." Hisoka, now in motion with cards in hand, adds, "IF YOU THINK THAT'S NOT ENOUGH... I CAN ONLY FIGHT TO PROTECT MYSELF..."

A massive explosion erupts with the large SFX "DAM" and radiating impact lines. Nobunaga shouts in rage, "LIKE I WOULD SAY SOMETHING LIKE THAT!! ARRGH!" Debris flies as the short-haired child and Nobunaga are thrown amid shattered floorboards. Hisoka is seen leaping through the destruction. In the following panels the rubble settles; Nobunaga and the children pick themselves up among the wreckage while Hisoka remains in motion, the area reduced to broken planks and scattered fragments.

Hisoka's face twists in shock, eyes wide with a star marking on his cheek, as a massive exclamation mark erupts between him and another figure. Below, rubble and shattered debris scatter across the ground. Nobunaga stands amid the wreckage with his sword drawn, while Hisoka crouches nearby with spiky hair and a star tattoo. In the center, a dark-haired man in a fur-collared coat sits calmly on the broken concrete, small impact lines around him. A voice cries out 'HE MOVED?!' Another exclaims 'IN A FRACTION OF A SECOND ...?!' Nobunaga, now shown in close-up, shouts 'NOBU-NAGA' as another panel shows a tense face declaring 'I'M THE ONE WHO MOVED ...?!' A final panel ends with a shadowed figure and the word 'NO...'

From above, two figures stand on the rubble-strewn ground near a small palm tree. One turns away while the other remains still. In smaller panels, a blond character questions 'DANCHOU DID THAT?' while another replies 'IT'S POSSIBLE... BUT I DON'T KNOW WHAT TECHNIQUE HE USED.' Hisoka's face appears with a silent ellipsis. A distant view shows a figure standing on debris as someone below says 'HISO KA.' The large panel reveals Pakunoda's intense close-up with cross markings on her forehead, feathers in her hair, as she commands 'PLEASE SHUT UP.' In the final panel she continues 'JUST RESPOND WITH "I CAN'T SAY ANYTHING." WHEN YOU ARE UNABLE TO ANSWER. I'M GOING TO ASK YOU A FEW QUESTIONS.'

In a dimly lit room, a voice wonders aloud, "NO... PROBABLY 7 OR 8..." while another asks, "ALL OF THEM ?" Pakunoda stands facing the group and questions, "ABILITIES OF THE MEMBERS OF THE RYODAN. WHICH SECRETS HAVE YOU REVEALED?" Nobunaga, shown in profile, replies, "FRANKLIN, SHALNARK, AND I. 8 IN TOTAL." He continues listing names, "DANCHOU, UVO, SHIZUKU, MACHI..." Pakunoda, viewed from behind in successive panels, repeatedly states, "I CAN'T SAY ANYTHING." Questions press her: "WHAT ARE THE LINKS BETWEEN YOU AND HE?" "WHAT DOES HE LOOK LIKE?" "WHAT'S THE NEN TYPE OF THE CLIENT?" A sudden close-up reveals intense eyes glaring with the sound effect "GRRRRR". The scene shifts to rubble-strewn ground where a figure says, "I SEE." Chrollo Lucilfer appears with a question mark above his head. Pakunoda answers, "EXACTLY." Chrollo remarks, "HMM... YOU ONLY DISCOVERED KUROTOPI'S NEN YESTERDAY ..."

Close-up panels show Nobunaga's stern face, Hisoka with star makeup, and Pakunoda with her cross tattoo. A massive sound effect "ZAAAAAAAAAAT" shakes the background with lightning bolts and "SHAH" effects. Pakunoda, holding an open book, declares, "THE CLIENT WITH THE RED EYES WOULD BE THE CHAIN GUY..." She continues, "HE HAS AT LEAST TWO SKILLS. THE ONE HE USED TO CAPTURE UVO. AND THE ONE HE IS USING TO KEEP HISOKA FROM SPEAKING." The book displays intricate patterns. A final panel states, "WE IMPOSE RULES UPON SOMEONE." Another reads, "THE SECOND SKILL IS SIMILAR TO WHAT IS CALLED 'THE SWORD OF THE LAW.'"

Pakunoda stands tall in her long black coat, one boot resting on a surface as she reads from a book. She declares, "ATTENTION, WHAT I'M GOING TO SAY NOW IS ONLY A SUPPOSITION." A box explains that the chain guy planted an attack device in Hisoka's body. In close-up, Pakunoda continues, "YOU MUST NOT LIE TO ME," or "YOU MUST NEVER EXPLAIN ANYTHING ABOUT ME"... The law the chain guy imposed upon Hisoka must be something along those lines. Hisoka appears in profile, a tear rolling down his cheek with a heart symbol as he reacts with "AH" and "ZING ZING" sound effects. Pakunoda reasons, "IN THAT CASE, THE PREDICTION WOULD ANNOUNCE HISOKA TO BE UNDER THE SWORD OF THE LAW." She adds, "IF HE WERE TO TALK, HE'S THE ONE THE SWORD WOULD ENDANGER." Another panel considers, "SUPPOSING THAT THEY STARTED AN EXCHANGE, AND NOT A SALE OF INFORMATION, THE WORDS WRITTEN TAKE ON A COMPLETELY DIFFERENT MEANING."

Hisoka appears in a dramatic full-body pose against a black background, hand behind his head, declaring "IT'S CERTAIN. I'M THE ONE WHO'LL KILL YOU..." with a heart symbol. A panel shows a figure in a cross-marked coat walking away amid rubble with the note "THAT SWORD HOLDS HISOKA'S WORDS BACK." Smaller panels feature Gon and Killua discussing: "ANYWAYS... HE HAS A STRONG SKILL IN REINFORCEMENT." Killua suggests, "LET'S TRY TO SUMMARIZE IT." Gon and Killua analyze further: "IF HE'S A MATERIALIZATION USER, THAT MEANS HE CAN FIGHT WITH HIS BARE HANDS. AND THAT'S HUGE. A HUGE ONE. THERE'S A DIFFERENCE?" They conclude, "IF HE'S OF MATERIALIZATION TYPE, HE USED A COMPLETELY CREATED CHAIN. IF HE'S MANIPULATION TYPE, HE BEAT UVO USING A REAL CHAIN. THE OPPONENT USES A CHAIN."

A young boy with light hair and a jacket gestures while explaining, "IN OTHER WORDS, THE LOSS OF THE OBJECT CAN BE FATAL." He continues, "PARTICULARLY IN THE CASE OF AN OBJECT USED TO MANIPULATE: IF HE DOESN'T COMPLETELY MASTER IT, HE MAY BE UNABLE TO MAKE THE POWER AND ACCURACY DEVELOP." Another voice adds, "HOWEVER, IF HE USES MANIPULATION, THAT MEANS HE CAN'T DEVELOP HIS STRENGTH WITHOUT THE HELP OF AN OBJECT, AND HE CAN'T BE SEPARATED FROM IT." In a ruined building interior, the group debates further. "OR CONSTRAINING IT TO PARTICULARLY DIFFICULT CONDITIONS," one says. "IF THE CHAIN HAS A PARALYZING OR SOPORIFIC ABILITY," another notes. A character with slicked-back hair asks, "BUT DO YOU REALLY THINK A MATERIALIZED CHAIN IS ENOUGH TO OVERCOME THE FORCE LIVO HAD?" The reply comes, "IT'S NOT IMPOSSIBLE." The girl with glasses states, "ONCE THE OBJECT IS CREATED, WE CAN MAKE IT APPEAR OR DISAPPEAR AS WE DESIRE. OF COURSE... THE MATERIALIZATION OF AN OBJECT REQUIRES DIFFICULT TRAINING, BUT..." "THE PROBLEM IS UNDERSTANDING HOW HE COULD TRAP LIVO," someone concludes. Both hypotheses suggest high possibility rates. "RIGHT," affirms the slick-haired man. "THE SWORD OF THE LAW WE WERE TALKING ABOUT A MINUTE AGO, IT HELPS HIM STAY PROTECTED, RIGHT?" Hisoka appears in the foreground with a star and teardrop on his face, saying, "WE CAN'T CHECK, BUT WE CAN SUPPOSE THAT IF HE DOESN'T KEEP HIS PROMISE, HE'LL DIE." In the background, a figure stands among rubble as the boy looks on. "HE MAY HAVE HAD A CONDITION FORBIDDING HISOKA TO ATTACK HIM."

Hisoka stands centered against radiating speed lines, holding a card between his fingers. Large text declares, "THERE'S NOTHING CLOSE TO THE SWORD OF THE LAW !!" On the right, "OBVIOUSLY, IN THE BODY OF HISOKA" is written. Hisoka's expression is calm yet intense, with flowing hair and his signature outfit featuring club and spade symbols. Narration boxes explain that he has effectively talked to Kurapika about the skills of the Ryodan members, though he only spoke of Shizuku and Uvo while revealing things about eight members. Hisoka sits with his back to the viewer, the spade and club symbols visible on his coat. Additional narration states that all Hisoka knows is Pakunoda uses specialization to read memory bases by touch, and that he does not know the abilities of each member. A close-up shows a blonde woman pointing her finger like a gun and saying 'Bang.' She notes that only Kuroro can use materialized bullets to attack. The bottom panel depicts several Ryodan members in tense poses, including Hisoka, a muscular fighter, and others, with narration warning that letting information slip in a real fight could mean death, and that each member has a hidden face.

Narration continues that Machi alone knows within the Ryodan that Hisoka can use Deceptive Texture, and that Hisoka is no exception to the rule. Hisoka appears in close-up on the right. Further text explains he can reproduce over 1000 textures and that Deceptive Texture can become animal, vegetable, mineral, soil, metal, a painting, ink, or fiber. A sequence shows hands writing on paper with motion lines; narration reveals he first copied the paper and ink used by Kuroro when he wrote the prediction, then covered the original with a blank copy to make new paper and wrote a new prediction with the same handwriting. The final panel is a dramatic full-width spread with radiating speed lines and bold text declaring the end of the falsification of the prediction.

Narration recounts how someone was prepared to confront every member of the Ryodan, risking his life in the process. If Kuroro had not deciphered the code Hisoka left behind voluntarily, the situation would have unfolded differently. Hisoka stands with arms at his sides, the ♣ mark visible on his shirt, declaring that he stayed just to be able to fight alongside Kuroro. In the foreground, a woman with a spider tattoo on her forehead and spider emblems on her fur collar states that she acted only to force the Ryodan to remain in York Shin. The final panel shows a close-up of Hisoka’s face partially obscured by bold lettering reading TENACIOUS, accompanied by the line “I STAY.” and the fragment “HISOKA IS SOME-ONE.”

Inside a ruined room under falling rain, a voice notes that one person is missing from the death count: Uvo, Hisoka, Shizuku, Pakunoda, and Shalnark are listed. Only Feitan, Kortopi, Kurotopi, and the speaker remain. The blond woman with a spider tattoo states she still has things to do before dying and refuses to quit the hunt. Franklin, face stitched and scarred, tells the group it is time to return home. Outside the building in the rain, a boy holding an umbrella and a sheet of paper asks what they are doing next and whether they should stay or draw. Two other boys stand nearby; one comments “Dan-chou” while the other replies “Evidently.”

Below, Hisoka appears in profile, star and teardrop marks visible on his face, expression fierce with narrowed eyes.
