Life or Death! Prelude to the Final Battle

A massive frog-like Chimera Ant looms in close-up, its eyes wide as it presents three choices to the humans. The first option is to decide the order in which they will fight the Ants. The second is to try to escape. The third is to give up, stop resisting, and surrender. The Ant declares that as their targets, the humans now have three alternatives. In the forest clearing below, the Queen's army presses on. Several Ant soldiers stand among the trees while a large black Ant with a hexagonal eye and bandages restrains a smaller figure. Gon kneels in the center of the clearing, staring forward. Kite stands nearby with long hair flowing, and Killua watches from the side. The Ant explains that choosing the first option means one-on-one fights with representatives from their side, giving the humans a small chance of surviving. Choosing the second will only annoy them; they will capture the humans alive and torture them for a long time. The third alternative is far less annoying. Someone notes that the first person is... Gon, Killua, and Kite react as a voice identifies the long-haired figure as the leader of the small team of grunts based on how he spoke.

The horned bull-like chimera ant reacts with shock. A white wolf-like figure stands nearby. The lizard ant threatens that losing means being fed to the Queen. Gon listens as the lizard ant clarifies that if Gon wins, he will not be killed. Gon proposes an additional rule: if he loses, he promises not to eat humans anymore. The bull ant laughs loudly, calling the condition foolish. Other chimera ants watch from the trees as the group discusses the terms of the duel.

The ball smashes into the ground with a heavy "DON," kicking up dirt, rocks, and debris across the clearing. The spiky creature is hurled violently into a tree trunk. Killua stands at the edge of the scene, watching the impact unfold.

An armored reptilian creature comments "DODGED PRETTY WELL." while crouched low. Gon slides across the grass after evading the attack, marked "ZA." Killua watches closely from the side and thinks "ISN'T THAT THE SAME MOVE AS BEFORE?"

A violent explosion erupts in the forest as Gon is hurled backward through the air by a massive impact. The shelled creature explains that he used the strength of his tail to change the direction of his attack. Repeated heavy impacts shake the ground with DO DO DO DO sounds. Gon is struck again amid flying debris and motion lines. A voice cries out asking if Gon is injured. Another powerful blast labeled DOON sends shockwaves through the trees as a small figure labeled ZA stands upright amid the destruction.

The shelled creature notes that a normal person would have had their internal organs splattered by now and sighs that Gon is still unhurt. Gon stands up defiantly with a fierce glare. The creature declares it is impossible to avoid its homing bullet ball attack and taunts Gon to surrender and be fed to the queen. A small figure asks Gon what he is going to do. The creature explains it will direct its next attack where Gon dodges. It then states the primary reason it kills humans is not for food or survival and offers to tell the kid something before killing him.

A massive turtle-like Chimera Ant looms with its jaws open wide. "I ENJOY KILLING," it declares. The creature continues speaking to Gon, "LET ME ENJOY THAT MOMENT! YOU KNOW, I REALLY LIKE THE SOUND OF THE INTERNAL ORGANS FLYING OUT OF A HUMAN'S MOUTH." Gon stands in a ready stance, his expression intense.
