THAT WE ARE STILL HERE!" while Nami adds, "I'LL TELL YOU SOON, PLEASE WAIT A LITTLE LONGER." The giant warrior bellows about the City of Gold and Jaya. A crowd reacts with shock as the massive Shandora bell is shown. Narration notes, "It's been 400 years... OF SHANDORA! LIGHT THE FLAME," and a voice states, "What we've sought since then... Luffy's massive face fills the right side of the page as he screams with all his might. A huge speech bubble erupts beside him: "LET IT RING ALL THE WAY DOOOWN!" Below, the ruined cityscape of Shandora shakes violently. A massive, ancient golden bell, cracked and chained, swings wildly on its massive frame, debris flying everywhere. The bell tolls with a deep, resonant force. Three circular narration bubbles rise from the chaos: "FOR 400 YEARS...", "THE CITY OF GOLD EXISTS!", and "MISTER DIAMOND HEAD! CAN YOU HEAR IT!I" On the left, a close-up shows a fierce, wide-eyed warrior's face reacting in shock. The entire scene vibrates with the bell's power as the legendary sound echoes across the sky.

The massive sound effect "カラァーーン!!!" dominates the upper half of the page, the bold Japanese characters stretching across the sky like the bell's continuing toll. Below, the vast white sea of clouds stretches endlessly. Two large circular bubbles proclaim: "WAS HERE IN THE SKY!" and "THE CITY OF GOLD!" A small puff of smoke or debris drifts in the upper sky. The ringing sound reverberates through the clouds, confirming the ancient city's presence high above the world.

A tight close-up shows Luffy's face framed in a square panel, his mouth wide open in an ecstatic, roaring shout. His eyes are squeezed shut, teeth bared, and his expression is one of pure triumph and release as the bell's song continues to echo.

Chapter 298 summary

Luffy falls through the sky amid falling debris as Nami, Conis, Pagaya, and the Shandians react in shock to the vanished Raigou. Enel stares in disbelief from his ship while voices from below urge Luffy to ring the golden bell of Shandora. Luffy twists his arm around the giant golden ball and rockets upward toward the Ark Maxim, declaring he will ring the bell along with Enel. Enel transforms into a massive lightning monster and stabs Luffy with his trident, taunting him as Nami watches in horror. Luffy falls off the edge but stretches his arm to anchor the golden ball, then slingshots back upward and unleashes Gomu Gomu no Golden Rifle. The spinning ball strikes Enel and drives him into the giant golden bell of Shandora.
