Chapter 639 summary
On Noah, Vander Decken IX and Hody Jones turn on each other after their alliance breaks. Hody strikes Decken with Gyoku Rukuruku to end the target ability and send the ship falling onto Fishman Island, then moves to kill Shirahoshi before the drop. The princes spot the betrayal and warn Shirahoshi, who cries out as Hody charges. Fukaboshi intercepts with Snake Shot and knocks Hody back, while Luffy declares he will protect Shirahoshi, Fishman Island, and everyone else because that is what he trained for. In Gyoncord Plaza, Zeo tricks Wadatsumi into swallowing an Energy Steroid, after which the giant overpowers Surume and attacks the Straw Hats. Jinbe counters with Nanasenmai-Gawara Mawashigeri and sends Wadatsumi flying, then Sanji joins the fight against the giant. Hyouzou, also empowered by Energy Steroids, rampages through the crowd with his blades until Zoro steps in and blocks the attack.
