Brownbeard
Brownbeard is a pirate who claimed islands after Whitebeard's death and later became entangled with Caesar on Punk Hazard. He leads a crew of bizarre fighters and is known for his aggressive territorial claims and eventual betrayal by his former master. Brownbeard interacts with the Straw Hats and chooses arrest over continued exploitation.
His story spans from seizing Foodvalten to surviving experiments and confronting his past loyalties. Brownbeard warns others of dangers and aids escapes while dealing with injuries and loss of his crew.
Appearance
Brownbeard stands large with a massive braided beard and wears a fur coat along with a pearl headband. He carries a weapon and later appears bandaged and coatless after injuries on the island.12
His checkered outfit and long hair become visible during later events while he remains chained or sprawled on the ground with sweat drops on his face.34

History
Brownbeard first appears claiming Foodvalten as his own after Whitebeard's death and smashes the Straw Hat flag while announcing that the world is now open for the taking. His crew of bizarre fighters cheers as he declares the island belongs to him and laughs about his status as the great pirate Brownbeard.7
On Punk Hazard Brownbeard is found injured and coatless before being treated by Caesar. He later provides information about the Yeti Cool Brothers and is confirmed on their death list while chained.89
Brownbeard first interacts with the Straw Hat crew while bound in heavy chains on Punk Hazard. He insists on his former name and launches into an explanation of his generation when questioned about his sudden talkativeness. Brownbeard predicts rescue by Law and expresses that most pirates of the current generation are intolerable except for that one exception.10
After the betrayal becomes clear Brownbeard coughs while lying on the ground and recognizes a Straw Hat pirate as the attacker.
