King Harald is the late king of Elbaf and father to Hajrudin and Loki. He ruled as Elbaf's strongest king while seeking peace with the outside world and reconciliation with neighboring nations. Harald began his reign at forty-five human years old and worked to end Elbaf's isolation by forging diplomatic bonds and opening trade routes. His efforts to atone for the giant race's past sins and integrate Elbaf with the wider world ultimately led to his death at the hands of his son Loki fourteen years before the current events.

Appearance

King Harald possessed ancient giant horns that were later removed from his head. The portrait in the castle depicts him as a stern figure wearing armor and a cape with prominent horns still intact. Scars mark his head where the horns once stood.12

Personality

King Harald believed in uniting Elbaf with the rest of the world through peaceful means. He declared that people need to forge connections for international cooperation and compared diplomat exchanges to a fancy hostage deal for cultural understanding. Harald insisted that his people had always treated humans fairly and honorably while planning frequent overseas voyages to extend reconciliation to neighbors.4

Harald rejected the old warrior era practices and backwards traditions of Elbaf. He stated that he no longer believed military power makes a country strong and credited meeting Ida with changing his views on strength and leadership. Harald affirmed that all bad practices from the warrior era would be thrown away so children could laugh and study instead.5

King Harald possessed the strength to clash swords mid air with an opponent in explosive impacts while swinging a massive sword downward with his armored body and flowing cape. His power allowed him to burst through walls in fiery explosions with debris flying outward and to fight despite being covered in stab wounds.67
