When did Roger die?

Answered

The answer

Chapter 506 · updated

Gol D. Roger was executed twenty-two years ago. Rayleigh states this directly while recounting events at Shakky's bar, noting that the crew had already been captured by the Marines at that point. He adds that Roger gave himself up willingly because he could see the end of their journey and had contracted a terminal disease about four years before the public execution. The scene shifts to a flashback of Roger on the execution platform in Logue Town, where he declares that he left everything in one place for others to find. Usopp and the others react emotionally to hearing the firsthand account of how Roger lived and died. Rayleigh concludes the story by saying Roger is dead after describing the final voyage and the recruitment of Crocus. ch. 506, p. 13 ch. 506, p. 9 ch. 506, p. 14
