One Piece Chapter 117: Dorry and Brogy

AH, HOLD ON A MOMENT. AHH... WHEN IT COMES TO BLACK TEA, NOTHING BEATS EARL GREY, YOU KNOW?" A young girl sitting opposite him, wearing a large hat and painting on a canvas, says flatly, "I'M BORED." Mr. 3 responds, "YOU SAY YOU'RE BORED, BUT YOU'RE NOT EXACTLY FOND OF WORKING EITHER, AREN'T YOU?" She replies simply, "YUP." Mr. 3 continues, "THEN WHY DON'T YOU TRY TO ENJOY THIS BLISSFUL TIME AWAY FROM OUR DUTIES? AFTER ALL, LEISURELY ENJOYING OUR BREAK IS ALSO ONE OF OUR PRIVILEGES AS AN OFFICER AGENT, YOU KNOW? AND ALSO... WOULD YOU MIND NOT CALLING ME BY MY CODENAME SO CASUALLY IN A PUBLIC PLACE LIKE THIS?"

A close-up reveals the man's face clearly. He has a stern expression, a striped scarf, and his hair and glasses prominently feature the number "3". He says, "DON'T YOU THINK PEOPLE WILL FIND OUT I'M MR. 3?" A caption box identifies him: "BAROQUE WORKS OFFICER AGENT MR. 3". The girl opposite him is shown in a close-up. She has round red cheeks, braided pigtails, and a large hat with goggles resting on the brim. She replies with a blank expression, "OH, REALLY?" WHAT IS IT EXACTLY?" Miss Goldenweek holds up a piece of paper and says casually, "AN ORDER FROM THE BOSS." Mr. 3 violently spits out his tea in shock, yelling, "CAN'T YOU TELL ME THAT SOONER!?"

Mr. 3 reads the paper while sitting at the cafe table, looking serious. Miss Goldenweek says, "IT SEEMS MR. 5 HAS BEEN BEATEN... OH, DON'T YOU WISH IF SOMEBODY WERE TO BE BEATEN, IT'D BE MR. 2?" She continues, "WELL, IF ONLY MR. 5 HAS BEEN BEATEN, THE MATTER IS NOTHING TO PANIC ABOUT, DON'T YOU THINK? THEN WE COULD BE PROMOTED." Mr. 3 takes a sip of his tea and says, "AFTER ALL, THAT MAN IS JUST AN OVERCONFIDENT FOOL WHO OVERESTIMATES HIS ABILITIES. NO MATTER HOW POWERFUL ONE'S DEVIL FRUIT ABILITY IS, WITHOUT THE TALENT TO USE IT EFFECTIVELY, ONE WILL FOREVER BE A USELESS BUM." He looks determined, his glasses glinting, and adds, "A BRILLIANT CRIMINAL USES HIS BRILLIANT INTELLECT TO CARRY OUT HIS OBJECTIVES, YOU KNOW. WHY DON'T WE GO AND TEACH 'THEM' THE TERROR OF ANTAGONIZING A CRIMINAL ORGANIZATION?"

The scene cuts abruptly back to the jungle island, where the two massive giants, Dorry and Brogy, are engaged in a fierce and earth-shaking battle. Brogy swings his large axe with tremendous force, and Dorry blocks it with his massive sword. Brogy shouts aggressively, "DON'T YOU LONG FOR OUR HOME, DORRY?" Dorry replies with equal intensity, "THAT'S EXACTLY WHY I'LL CRUSH YOU TODAY AND LEAVE FOR ELBAF AT ONCE, BROGY!" They clash heavily, their weapons grinding against each other. Brogy yells, "NUEIII!" as he pushes forward, the sheer power of their struggle creating shockwaves that tear through the surrounding air and trees.

The intense battle between the giants continues to rage. Brogy swings his axe down with a mighty "SERYAAA!", and Dorry blocks it with his sword, grunting "OHHH!". The impact is massive, sending tremors through the ground. Down below, Nami and Usopp are watching the fight, looking absolutely terrified. Nami covers her ears, crying out "AGH!" as the deafening sound of the clash echoes. Usopp watches in shock as Brogy's axe strikes Dorry's helmet with a loud clang. Usopp stammers, "H-H-HE TOOK IT RIGHT ON THE HELMET! IF HE RECEIVED THAT BLOW JUST A FEW CENTIMETRES OFF, IT'D HAVE MEANT INSTANT DEATH!" The giants continue to exchange heavy, lethal blows, shaking the very island. Usopp observes in awe and fear, "W-WHAT A FIGHT... ALL OF THEIR ATTACKS ARE AIMING FOR EACH OTHER'S MOST VITAL POINTS TO KILL WITH ONE BLOW! AND THEY'VE BEEN FIGHTING LIKE THIS FOR OVER 100 YEARS...!?"

Usopp and Nami continue to watch the giants fight from a safe distance. Nami says, "BUT IT'S GOOD FOR US... THIS IS OUR CHANCE TO ESCAPE! LET'S GO, USOPP!" Usopp, however, is mesmerized by the battle, staring in awe and whispering, "WOW..." Nami calls out impatiently, "USOPP?" Usopp recalls Brogy's earlier words: "THE REASON? I FORGOT THAT LONG AGO! GABABABA!" Usopp says quietly, "EVEN WITHOUT ANY REASON, THEY FIGHT LIKE THIS..." Nami complains, "GOD, WHAT A NUISANCE THEY ARE..." Usopp suddenly turns to her, his face filled with angry passion, "YOU FOOL! THIS IS WHAT A MAN'S FIGHT IS!" Nami is taken aback, "...WHAT?" Usopp explains earnestly, "LET'S SAY THAT THERE'S A METAPHORICAL FLAG RAISED IN THEIR HEARTS... AND THOSE FLAGS ARE MORE IMPORTANT THAN THEIR VERY LIVES! THEY DON'T WANT THEIR FLAGS TO BE BROKEN NO MATTER WHAT...! AND SO, TO PROTECT THAT FLAG, THEY CONTINUE THIS FIGHT FOR OVER 100 YEARS!" The giants clash again in the background as Usopp shouts, "CAN'T YOU SEE!? THIS IS A REAL BATTLE OF PRIDE, BETWEEN TWO WARRIORS!"

Usopp is deeply moved by the giants' battle, tears welling in his eyes as he speaks with intense conviction. "THIS IS IT! THIS IS WHAT I MEANT BY A BRAVE WARRIOR OF THE SEAS! I WANT TO BECOME A PROUD WARRIOR JUST LIKE THEM!" Nami turns away, waving her hand dismissively. "WELL, I'M NOT INTERESTED IN ANY OF THAT STUFF SO I'M GOING TO TAKE OFF!" Usopp declares firmly, "I'M GOING TO STAY HERE A BIT LONGER AND WATCH!" Nami sighs, "HMPH...", and sits down heavily on the ground, looking annoyed. "SO YOU WANT TO BE A GIANT, HUH..." Usopp yells at her, "DID YOU EVEN LISTEN TO ANYTHING I JUST SAID!?" He then looks back at the fight, a determined and hopeful smile spreading across his face. "IF THERE'S AN ENTIRE VILLAGE FULL OF WARRIORS LIKE THEM, I'D SURE LIKE TO VISIT IT ONE DAY...!"

The two massive giants, Dorry and Brogy, clash one final time with incredible force. Their weapons - Dorry's sword and Brogy's axe - meet in the center of the panel, creating a massive explosion of energy and shockwaves that tear through the surrounding jungle. The impact is so severe that both giants are thrown backward. They grunt in pain, "UGH!" and "GUH!", as the sheer force of their own blows repels them. Their massive bodies fall heavily toward the ground, crashing into the trees and kicking up huge clouds of dust and debris as the 73,466th battle comes to an end.

The dust settles, and the two giants are shown lying flat on the ground, panting heavily from the exertion of their battle. Brogy says between breaths, "73,466 FIGHTS, AND 73,466......DRAWS." They both sit up simultaneously with a loud thud, facing each other across the ruined landscape. Brogy laughs heartily, "GABA BABABA! HEY, DORRY! I GOT SOME RUM FROM GUESTS!" Dorry replies enthusiastically, his mouth wide open in a grin, "EXCELLENT! I HAVEN'T HAD RUM FOR SO LONG! POUR ME SOME, WILL YA!? GEGYA GYAGYA!"

Dorry and Brogy are sitting down at their separate camps, enjoying the rum. At Dorry's camp, Dorry laughs, "GE GYA GYA GYA!" He asks whether Brogy's guests could be Luffy's crewmates, saying the two guests were a long-nosed man and a woman. Luffy realizes, "THAT MUST BE USOPP AND NAMI!" and wonders why they made such a fuss about not leaving the ship. Vivi suggests that maybe those two really do like adventures, then says she should be thanking both giants for the drinks. At Brogy's camp, Nami asks, "SORRY TO CHANGE THE TOPIC, BUT EARLIER YOU SAID THAT IT TAKES A YEAR FOR THE LOG TO FINISH RECORDING ON THIS ISLAND. IS THAT REALLY TRUE?" Brogy replies, "HAVEN'T YOU SEEN THE SKELETONS OF THEM LITTLE HUMANS, LYING ON THE GROUND AROUND THESE PARTS? MOST HUMANS WHO COME HERE END UP DYING BEFORE THEIR LOG SETS. SOME ARE EATEN BY THE DINOSAURS, OTHERS GIVE IN TO HEAT OR STARVATION. AND SOME EVEN TRY TO ATTACK US... WHATEVER THE CASE, THEY ALL END UP PERISHING ON THIS ISLAND. SEEMS THAT SPENDING EVEN A SINGLE YEAR ON THIS ISLAND'S JUST TOO LONG FOR YOU LITTLE HUMANS."

Nami bursts into tears, holding her head in despair. "WHAT DO I DO... EVEN IF I SURVIVE ON THIS ISLAND FOR THAT LONG... WHO KNOWS WHAT WOULD BECOME OF MY COUNTRY DURING THAT TIME..." Luffy, looking relaxed with his hands behind his head, says, "YEAH, SPENDING A WHOLE YEAR HERE WOULD GET KINDA BORING. ISN'T THERE SOME OTHER WAY, MISTER?" Dorry, sitting with his sword resting on his shoulder, replies, "WELL, I DO HAVE ONE ETERNAL POSE. BUT THAT ONLY POINTS TOWARDS MY HOME ELBAF. IN A WAY, YOU COULD SAY THAT BROGY AND I ARE FIGHTING OVER THIS ETERNAL POSE. YOU WANT TO TRY STEALING IT FROM US BY FORCE?" Luffy smiles and says, "NAH, THAT WON'T DO. WE'RE NOT TRYING TO GO TO ELBAF, WE JUST WANT TO GO ON TO THE NEXT ISLAND. RIGHT?" Nami, still crying, agrees, "YES... IF WE VEER OFF OUR CURRENT COURSE TO ALABASTA, THEN THERE'S NO MEANING IN SAILING AT ALL." Luffy adds, "YEAH, SEE?"

Dorry throws his head back and laughs heartily, "GEGYA GYAGYA GYA! THEN WHY DON'T YOU JUST TEST YOUR LUCK AND SAIL AHEAD!? IF FATE WILLS IT, YOU'LL REACH YOUR DESTINATION!" Brogy also laughs loudly, "DAHAHA HAHA! YOU THINK!?" Dorry replies, "AHAHA HAHA! YOU KNOW, IT JUST MIGHT WORK!" He looks down at Luffy and says, "GEGYAGYAGYA! YOU REALLY ARE ONE INTERESTING LITTLE HUMAN! GEGYA GYAGYA GYA". Nami looks uncertain, sweating slightly, "UMM...". Meanwhile, Usopp is talking to Brogy. Brogy asks, "A BRAVE WARRIOR OF THE SEAS? WHAT'S THAT?" Usopp points at Brogy excitedly, "IT'S SOMEONE LIKE YOU! I WANT TO BECOME JUST LIKE YOU TWO ONE DAY!"

Usopp continues explaining to Brogy, thumping his chest proudly. "NO, THAT'S NOT WHAT I MEAN! I WANT TO LIVE PROUD AND HONOURABLY, JUST LIKE THE WARRIORS OF ELBAF!" Brogy laughs, "GABABABA! I SEE! WE GIANTS HAVE MUCH LONGER LIFESPANS THAN YOU HUMANS, AND AS SUCH, WE WISH NOTHING MORE THAN AN HONOURABLE DEATH." He looks serious as he continues, "ONE'S FORTUNES OR LIFE IS ALL BOUND TO COME TO AN END ONE DAY. AFTER ALL, TO A WARRIOR OF ELBAF, TO DIE WITHOUT TARNISHING ONE'S PRIDE IS WHAT WE MEAN BY AN HONOURABLE DEATH. IT'S AN ETERNAL TREASURE THAT'S PASSED ON THROUGH THE LANDS OF ELBAF. OUR PRIDE ALONE NEVER COMES TO AN END." Usopp smiles in deep understanding, "SO YOUR PRIDE IS YOUR TREASURE!"

Suddenly, a massive and violent explosion erupts directly from Dorry's mouth! A huge blast of fire, smoke, and force shoots out, completely engulfing his face and the front of his helmet. The massive sound effect 'BOOOM!!!' fills the panel as the shockwave radiates outward. Down below, standing near the giant's feet, Luffy and Vivi watch the horrific event unfold in absolute shock and horror. Vivi screams, '!!!?' her eyes wide with terror. Luffy, his jaw dropping in disbelief, yells out, 'THE RUM... EXPLODED!'

Thick, billowing smoke pours continuously from Dorry's mouth and nose as he reels backward from the devastating internal explosion. He groans in agony, his eyes wide with shock and pain. His massive body loses its balance and begins to fall backward, crashing heavily toward the jungle floor. The sheer size of his falling form creates a terrifying scene. Down below, Vivi screams out in panic, 'MR. DORRY!' while Luffy, equally shocked, yells, 'MR. GIANT!' as they helplessly watch their new friend collapse from the treacherous attack.

Dorry lies flat on his back on the ground, smoke still rising from his mouth. Luffy and Vivi are shocked. Luffy yells, "WHAT HAPPENED!? WHY DID THE RUM SUDDENLY EXPLODE!?" Vivi realizes, "ISN'T THIS RUM FROM OUR SHIP!? IT EXPLODED FROM INSIDE HIS STOMACH! HOW HORRIBLE!" Luffy is furious, clenching his fists and yelling at Dorry, "ARE YOU BLIND!? WHY WOULD TWO WARRIORS WHO'VE BEEN FIGHTING EACH OTHER FOR OVER 100 YEARS, STOOP TO SUCH A LOW ACT!?" Dorry slowly sits up, his face darkened with anger and pain. He glares down at Luffy and Vivi, growling, "THEN WHO COULD IT HAVE BEEN... IT'S YOU LITTLE RUNTS..."

Dorry glares menacingly down at Luffy, thick smoke still coughing from his mouth and nose. He says, "COUGH! IT WASN'T BROGY... WE'RE PROUD WARRIORS OF ELBAF. WHAT ELSE WOULD IT BE IF IT'S NOT YOU...!" Luffy and Vivi stand before the furious giant. Vivi urges, "LET'S RUN AWAY FOR NOW! SAYING ANYTHING TO HIM WOULD BE FUTILE RIGHT NOW!" Luffy answers that trying to run away would also be useless against him, then takes off his straw hat and hands it to Vivi. "HERE, HOLD ON TO THIS," he says. "JUST STAND BACK." Vivi holds the hat, terrified at the prospect of a fight, and asks, "ARE YOU SERIOUSLY PLANNING TO FIGHT HIM!? THAT'S BEYOND RECKLESS! THE SIZE DIFFERENCE IS TOO MUCH!" Luffy steps forward, cracking his knuckles with a sharp "CRACK CRACK" sound. He looks up at the angry giant with a serious, determined expression and declares, "SORRY ABOUT THIS, MISTER, BUT I'M GONNA HAVE TO SHUT YOU UP FOR A BIT."
