Chapter 285 summary
Usopp and Sanji plummet from the sky and crash into the stone ruins below. Nami finds them, helps drag Sanji to safety, and identifies their location on an island cloud above the Shandora ruins. She and Usopp prepare to search for the others and escape on her waver. On the Maxim, Luffy battles Enel, who explains the ship's engines and declares the country's doomed fate. Luffy, burdened by a massive golden ball on his arm, reaches the ground with Aisa and meets Robin near Giant Jack. Nami, Usopp, and Sanji arrive on the waver, discover the beaten crew members, and Nami sets off alone to pursue Luffy up the stalk. Evacuations begin on Angel Island and in the Shandia village as the skies darken. Enel unleashes massive lightning strikes across the land and calls out "MAMARAGAN" as pillars of electricity rain down.
