What happens in chapter 455

Brook defeats Talleran by cutting out the zombie's animating soul, which flies away and leaves the giant body motionless. Franky and Robin learn from Brook that zombies on Thriller Bark are powered by stolen shadows taken with the power of the Kage Kage no Mi, and that Gecko Moria uses Doctor Hogback to strengthen the corpses.

A panicked man with a hat stares in horror and shouts, "WHAT IS THAT!I" A massive, grotesque mouth-like structure bursts open with a loud ズズッ ズッ, its single eye rolling as a thick black soul drips out amid screams of "HAAAA AAAAA AAA!!!" Off-panel voices urge, "WELL, PLEASE RETURN TO YOUR MASTER!!" while the soul continues emerging with more cries of "HAA AAAA AAA..." Someone explains, "THAT IS THE "SOUL" OF A ZOMBIE....!" Brook, the skeleton with an afro, stands calmly and states, "I PURIFIED HIM." A figure with an umbrella asks, "YOU STOPPED HIM COMPLETELY... WHAT DID YOU DOI" Brook replies, "THAT'S TRUE. IT LOOSENS UP." Elsewhere a blond man with a scar exhales flames and notes, "HAAAAAAA, THIS SPIDER WEB IS STRONG AGAINST "POWER" BUT WEAK AGAINST FIRE," while muttering "フウウウ...!!" A voice wonders, "...I" and another urges, "WE NEED TO INFORM THE MASTER!!!" Brook laughs wildly while another voice pleads "PL-PLEASE DON'T SHOUT SO MUCH. MY EARS WILL START RINGING!!" Brook retorts "BUT WAIT. SINCE I'M A SKELETON, I DON'T HAVE EARS!!" In the next scene inside the ruined building, Brook stands tall with his cane as the scarred man with white hair and the same woman listen. The scarred man says "AND I DRIFTED ALL ALONE IN THE SEA FOR DOZENS OF YEARS... LIKE I SAID BEFORE, THERE WAS A TIME WHEN MY SHIP'S RUDDER DIDN'T WORK." Brook replies "STOP IT. HE'S ALREADY DEAD."
