Chapter 786 summary
Luffy's Lion Blow shakes Dressrosa and leaves Doflamingo bloodied in a crater, yet the Birdcage stays active and continues cutting through the city. Citizens first celebrate what they believe is victory, then realize the danger persists as Luffy pants in Gear Fourth and prepares another strike. The second attack fails when Luffy's power runs out, sending him crashing to the ground where he lies unable to move. Jesus Burgess lands nearby and charges to kill Luffy and seize his Devil Fruit, while Trafalgar Law reaches the fallen fighter. Gats arrives, recognizes Luffy as the former gladiator Lucy, and learns that Luffy needs ten minutes to recover his Haki before he can finish Doflamingo. Gats rallies the Colosseum fighters, who agree to buy the time and shield Luffy with their lives. As Burgess lunges forward, Sabo intercepts the attack with a kick and stands between Luffy and the Blackbeard pirate.
