Vice-Admiral Vergo
Vice-Admiral Vergo is a high-ranking Marine officer secretly loyal to Joker who infiltrated the Marines to serve as head of Marine Base G-5. He maintains this dual role by covering up incidents such as child kidnappings and by eliminating threats to his secret. Vergo is known for his physical dominance in confrontations on Punk Hazard and for his long-standing ties to the Donquixote Family that predate his Marine career.
Throughout the events surrounding the SAD production facility and the gas weapon Shinokuni, Vergo asserts authority over the island while clashing with former associates including Trafalgar Law and Smoker. His actions reveal a commitment to protecting the Donquixote Family's operations at any cost, including turning against his own G-5 subordinates when necessary.
Appearance
Vice-Admiral Vergo wears a long quilted coat and sunglasses along with a goatee that contribute to his imposing presence. In later confrontations Vergo appears in a damaged corridor wearing a long diamond-patterned coat and sunglasses while his gloved fist drips blood after delivering strikes. He maintains an upright posture and cold expression amid chaos with visible facial scars on his face.23

Vice-Admiral Vergo remains calm and composed even when confronted about his identity or when observing prisoners restrained in a single cage. He states that it is quite a sight to see such an assortment of faces and admits he rather enjoys it while showing no concern for the safety of his own subordinates outside the facility.4

Young Law directly pleads with him to save the wounded Corasan while Vergo reacts with visible rage upon hearing the request. He is revealed as a marine infiltrator on a secret mission with Marines unaware of his ties to the Donquixote family.14
