Dalton did not die in One Piece. In chapter 136 Dalton is struck by three arrows in the chest and shoulder during combat and falls to one knee while villagers scream his name. ch. 136, p. 15 He continues fighting Wapol's forces in the same chapter after transforming into his bison hybrid form and delivering powerful attacks. ch. 136, p. 13 Later chapters depict Dalton still alive and active, intercepting an opponent in the snow and pleading with tears while refusing to let others become sacrifices. ch. 145, p. 11 He also appears in chapter 151 confronting issues in the castle and declaring resolve about the country's history. ch. 151, p. 9 "DALTON!" the villagers scream after the arrows hit. ch. 136, p. 15 "DON'T... DON'T BECOME ANOTHER SACRIFICE TO THIS COUNTRY!"
