History

Drum Island arrival

Dalton acts as the lead authority figure confronting pirates on Drum Island and orders the ship to depart while threatening to force it to leave. He agrees to guide the Straw Hats to town after they request a doctor.111

Dalton first encounters outsiders when their ship reaches the snowy shore of Drum Island. He questions who will search for a doctor after noting the presence of people and orders the crew to leave the island and turn around immediately. Dalton threatens to force the ship to leave if demands are ignored.12

After the visitors plead for aid Dalton appears in close-up with a stern sweating face. He directs attention to mountains visible from the window and names the mountains the Drum Rockies. Dalton points out the castle on the tallest mountain peak and states the castle currently has no king.1314

Dalton explains that the country was formerly called Drum Kingdom ruled by Wapol and was utterly destroyed by five pirates led by Blackbeard a few months prior. He notes that all doctors except one have disappeared and warns of violent carnivorous rabbits on the mountain route.15

Conflict with Wapol

Dalton confronts Wapol in the snowy village and denounces the law that holds citizens hostage while declaring that only twenty doctors remain in the castle research facility. He is later trapped under avalanche snow in Bighorn square and severely wounded inside the castle area.616

Reverie escort

Dalton is Captain of Drum Kingdom's Royal Guards and references escorting Wapol to a recent Reverie meeting. He observes Vivi's political maturity during the incident and notes that someone has been acting strange since the Reverie.1718

Sakura Kingdom rule

Dalton becomes king of Sakura Kingdom after Luffy drove Wapol out and stands on equal footing with Wapol during later meetings. He mocks the World Government for allowing Wapol back into the alliance.1920
